Amal was always on time, professional, knowledgeable about his beautiful country and fun to be around. Nothing was too much trouble. - Elena B3 contributionsRanil was our driver and guide during our amazing trip to Sri Lanka, taking us from Colombo to Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, and finally to Hiriketiya in the south. Without a doubt, our experience wouldn’t have been the same without him. Ranil is not just a driver—he is an excellent guide who knows everything about the country, from its history and culture to the best spots for activities and hidden gems.
He is incredibly flexible and can arrange activities of all kinds to suit your preferences, ensuring every part of the trip is tailored to you. Ranil is honest, always available, kind, friendly, and has a lovely attitude that makes every journey enjoyable.
His pricing is very fair, and he speaks perfect English, which makes everything so much easier. He truly is a reliable choice, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to explore this beautiful country.

Gihan our guide and Manoj our driver (and guide also!) were beyond fantastic. Gihan and his team were always there on hand if we needed any recommendations of where to eat or what to see and their attention to detail and ensuring that we were looked after and happy was 100 percent.
We were travelling with our 3 teenage kids and the holiday was brilliant for them and us. The right mix of adventure and the magical with great hotels. I particularly loved the fact that Gihan walked with us and guided us up the massive Lions Rock and kept the cheeky monkeys away from my daughter (who wasn't a fan of them trying to steal her coca cola!). We really enjoyed Manoj and Gihan's smile and support every day.
Gihan and his team definitely know the ins and outs of the country and really do find the hidden gem boutique hotels (the first hotel - our room was the size of a house!). And they can tailor to your needs and are flexible - so any budget of hotel they were able to sort for us.
A great and safe way to embrace an amazing country. One day we are in Kandy at the temple of the Buddha's tooth (a truly magical experience in the evening time), the next we are up in the tea plantations at nearly 7000 feet and the following day we are watching a leopard on a safari up close.
You can do as much or as little as you like - but we really loved the flexibiity of the air conditioned van as a base to drive us to all these exotic places you would never reach on your own (or very easily!) and a new fantastic hotel every few days. Loved the stunning views from our Tea plantation hotel and the infinity pool on the roof of the hotel in Mirrissa looking out to the beach opposite.
I loved the fact that Manoj ensured we all got on the tourist train from Nuriya Ella to Ella without missing it and protected us from the melee. I've done many back-packing travels in my day - but much preferred combining adventure with comfort and that element of safety for the kids.
Gihan got us a local SIM card when we arrived and we used watts app for all our comms - which made things really easy both before travel and during. It's easy to get money out at ATMS in Sri Lanka and really stunning place to visit. I would highly recommend Ceylon awaits for that special bespoke tour to your family.

Ravi was our driver for 15 days and he was amazing! He was really funny, competent and his English was really great! What was special about Ravi was that he speaks and understands some basic Dutch! We always felt 100% safe with him and we would definitely contact him again if we were to come back to Sri Lanka.
Ravi had a great local knowledge; he also kindly recommended and organized some amazing local food and cultural experiences. Ravi was gentle unassuming and was taking his time showing the wonderful back lanes and everything that the magical Sri Lanka has to offer. We would highly recommend Ravi! He has been a wonderful travel companion and he really made our days in Sri Lanka!

We were allocated a driver/guide called Niroshan who took care of us for 5 day tour including airport pick ups and visiting mountain retreats, temples and safaris. When we needed other things he took care of it...finding money changerss, extra safari...whale watching etc. He knew what would work and what would not. The driving in Sri Lanka makes Paris, Rome and Madrid look like a piece of cake. You really have to be on full alert. I have driven in 12 different countries but I would not drive in Sri Lanka and I was thankful to be driven by a competent local driver.
The sceneray is breathtaking and the safaris were great. Choice of hotels by Lotus were spot on even in remote locations. Even at the beach part of our holiday Niroshan is making sure the last minute whale watching trip is correctly organised. I am quite confident he has organised the whales too!

As for Sri Lanka...beautiful. The people are so friendly and grateful to visiting tourists. We have felt super safe at all times. We have esten in 11 different restaurants and no issues with food and no dodgy stomachs. The country is super clean everywhere..in the restaurants...in the streets...in the hotels.
Your senses will be attacked by this soft and gentle culture. Community dogs and cattle wander the streets. Monkeys sit and watch passers by. Horns honking and bright colours. Different religions living side by side but a calmness and kindness that takes you by surprise. Maybe not so surprising given the predominately Buddist mix. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - JRE1 contributionWe stayed in Sri Lanka Colombo area due to german governmnet funded academic student cooperation project and booked Winstartours with Wickrama for a package of 12 tours to southern, eastern, and southern provinces. Trips were done with very comfortable Toyota Hybrid car as well as vans of several sizes . Wickrama was always reliablle on the spot, cars were clean and without any failure. All his trip bookings worked out nicely, he saved our money with comparably better prizes due to personal contacts to local hotels and guides. He cared for fresh food on the road, as King coconuts, Papaya and buffalo curds with triacle. Great assistance with everything unforeseen, too.

So many memories to share with friends and family when we go back to London. SRI LANKA is definitely a place to explore from the beautiful beaches to the beautiful natural landscapes and architecture.
Our driver was very good and had some good chats with us.
Our guide was good too. He was professional, welcoming and delivered a service with a smile.

I must say i was extremely happy with his services. He has been hugely resourceful knowing in and out of the places to visit and pretty much everything. He went over board in ensuring we had a hassle & hustle free vacation. He is a great man always on his toes to help you out. If you are looking for a person you can trust and be comfortable with along the journey I recommend Fredrick.
