Among the top 3 attractions to visit when in Baku. Its a stunning piece of architecture that houses through 6 floors of exhibits about the history & culture of Azerbaijan including archealogical artefacts, art & paintings, traditional carpets and also a showcase on the political history of Azerbaijan. I spent close to 3 hours by myself there and did not realize where the time whizzed by.

The entrance to the museum is 15 AZN and there are guides available in both English & Russian language. The center also houses an auditorium where cultural shows and events are held and there is a nice cafe on the ground level that serves coffee and delicious snacks and light bites.

    Must visit when in Baku.

The tower is a prime example of early pre-islamic Zoroastrian archicture. The early Zoroastrians worshipped the four elements of earth, fire, air and water. Worth the visit.

The Azerbaijan Carpet Museum is a cultural, artistic, and historical treasure trove. Located along the scenic Baku Boulevard, the museum is an architectural masterpiece designed to resemble a rolled-up carpet. From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in the rich heritage of Azerbaijan’s carpet-weaving tradition.

The exhibits are beautifully curated, showcasing various carpets from different regions and periods. Each piece tells a story, with intricate patterns and vibrant colors reflecting the country’s culture, mythology, and craftsmanship. The detailed descriptions of each exhibit add depth to the experience, making it both educational and inspiring.

The museum isn’t just about carpets—it also includes displays of traditional clothing, textiles, and tools used in carpet weaving. There’s even a live demonstration area where artisans showcase the process of weaving, offering a glimpse into the incredible skill involved.

The museum’s layout is spacious and modern, with interactive elements that engage visitors of all ages. The views of the Caspian Sea from the upper floors are a bonus.
