Visiting Old Quarter is a must it is lively noisy and full of character Yes the motorbikes are annoying and you cannot walk on footpaths as they seem to be the motorbike parking area but it shows the real Hanoi and you soon get used to it waving your hands in an effort to cross the road in a land where traffic lights and zebra crossings are merely artefacts added to street corners with no instructions provided on how they are to be used
Night market provides a wonderful array of goods and crafts which you can haggle for experience street food and meet some wonderful Vietnamese people
You can take a break and get refreshments and view the madness that is Old Quarter from a balcony
In my view it is a must

This was a private tour day trip for me, leaving from Hanoi. Duong Lam is a one & half hours from Hanoi.
Arrived round 9.00 am . As o hired a driver not a guide I took myself off to explore. There is an entry fee of 20 thousand Dong , you get a map.
    How hard can this be!
I wandered round for a few hours discovering some interesting places and had a delicious custard apple smoothie.
In reality it would have been better to have a guided tour. I’m sure I missed highlights my map reading isn’t great.
There is a buggy takes people about the highlights of the village . Worth considering
I had lunch there as well not enjoyable either .
However I’m pleased with the overall experience

We dived into the lively atmosphere, sampling delicious street food and sipping local beer. The vibrant energy was contagious as we mingled with fellow travelers. Laughing and enjoying each bite together made for an unforgettable night filled with flavors and memories we’ll cherish!

It has a different atmosphere for sure compared with other area in Hanoi but I'm not sure it has a worth of a visit. The inside of the building is almost vacant while it has some cafes. I would not come again:-)
