Went as a family, really enjoyed it, visually stunning and extremely interesting. Advice would be to go early as gets extremely busy. No shorts allowed , so wear long pants and keep shoulders covered

It's amazing how the monarchs like to be remembered. The buildings are impressive. It is also interesting how they reflect the sunlight. The grounds and buildings are in excellent shape.

This pretty fort was right next to our hotel so we used to go past it all the time. It’s incredible that there is such history right in the city and it is definitely worth finding if you are out exploring.

Unfortunately, due to the current times, access was restricted but you can still get some great photographs from the outside.

During our vacation in Bangkok we had visited the beautiful Grand Palace complex and the Upper Terrace is located within the complex. This is included in the 500 baht ticket price which includes the Wat Phra, Golden Stupa, Grand Palace, Queen Sirikit museum of textiles. The view from this place of the temple complex and the palace is mesmerizing and a paradise for all photography lovers.

The house is in a wonderful park setting in central Bangkok. You can just walk around the park which has a number of really nice restaurants and take a personalised tour of the house which we did, it lasts about 50 minutes. The tour of the house was well worth it. The is a beautiful building constructed througout in teak, you get to find out the background as to whom built it and why and also learn about where the very large collection.of artefacts came from. The guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand.

Stained glass windows are colorful and luminous. Statues are magnificent. The ceiling is well decorated. The ambience is tranquil.

I'm distraught to see many glorious mature trees being felled inside the palace.I always cherished the views of the Palace from outside,a sense of a wonderful nature oasis,a lovely area for people to stroll.Does anybody know why they are being felled?

The ramparts are more interesting than the fort, but they should have left the new white paint off them do. The historic feel is undone when the feeling of antiquity makes an old building look like a wedding cake. It’s okay, you can take a quick look while walking by on the way yo the Golden Mount. No harm, no foul.

Being a fan of the film In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar Wai, I made sure to research on the filming locations that I can visit on my travels. Luckily, I had the chance to visit this place when I went to Bangkok last month. The place is old and abandoned but is still reminiscent of the Old Bangkok. Photos are not allowed to be taken but I managed to take a few since there was no guard watching. It is better to take photos from the other side (opposite where I took the photos) though. I suggest that you visit during daytime to see the beauty of the building. Get a cab or book a Grab so that you can directly get to the place.

This is certainly a family friendly club making effort to renovate the grounds to keep it running. The food is ridiculously cheap and quality of what you expect in your average British pub. Members only or guest of members, nice swimming pool, tennis courts and suitable for small kids, not alot for pre-teens to teens. Not exclusive as you would expect and pretty much anyone can join

East Asiatic Company was an international conglomerate which had operations all over the world. It dealt with shipping, trade and industry. It handled it’s asian operations from Bangkok and this building was it’s head office. The company also had it’s trading port on the Chao Phraya river where the Asiatique Mall stands now. It shipped out Teak from Siam and imported other goods. The East Asiatic Company building stands next to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on the Oriental Pier. It was built on classic Venetian lines in 1884 and has the company’s name on it’s facade. You can also see the company’s logo on it’s gable. The company was the brainchild of Captain Hans Andersen who was a Danish sea captain. It is a beautiful elegant building.

We were drawn into this temple on our way to Baan Silipan the Artists House. It was definitely worth stopping by this Wat for an atmospheric introduction into this old riverside community, The ruins here date back 300 years to late Ayutthaya days. Nice murals, very peaceful. Wouldn't make a special trip to see.
