We would have got here early to try and avoid the crowds but were on an organised tour. It is very impressive but it was ridiculously crowded making it difficult to see the buddha as everyone was taking selfies rather than enjoying looking at the prize exhibit in front of them.

We went early morning when it was quiet so enjoyed taking photos without lots of people in them. The decoration is fabulous on the buildings. The ticket includes a bottle of water and there are clean toilets, a cafe and places to buy snacks and 3D ice cream.

This temple sits inside the Grand Palace complex. The Emerald Buddha is rather underwhelming, but the whole temple is magnificent, and still used as a spiritual center. (take off shoes!)

In the Wat there is a huge upright 5 ton Buddha covered in gold leaf. This is a unique experience not to be missed. The entire Wat is worth the visit

In addition to the temple itself, the views from the top level are well worth the climb up the stairs. The Golden Mount is the high point of the old city. A great photo opportunity.

My second visit to Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, an amazing temple. In July 2023 there were less tourist around but even this time on a Sunday it was not too crowded. I took the MRT to Bang Phai station, Exit 1, and then down the stairs or with the elevator, it takes about 15 minutes to reach the pedestrian bridge over the canal, and then to the grounds of the temple. There is the Meili Café near to the bridge, good espresso and brownies.
There is so much to see at this temple, of course the giant Buddha statue is the main object for pictures. From the pagoda which is behind the Buddha pictures of the area can be taken. In the pagoda there are several levels to climb up the stairs, definitely worthwhile to do.
Several foreign women walked around with very tight shorts and bustier, unfortunately the Thais are too shy to tell them that wearing such dress is very disrespectful.

The Erawan shrine is a small shrine directly located at the Grand Hyatt hotel. I used to see this place while walking on the sky bridge between my hotel and Central of the World Mall. I enjoyed watching prayer and worship and some girls dancing, especially in the evening, during my last days in Bangkok.

If you don’t mind the spiral stairs, the long walk up has an amazing view of Bangkok and its surrounding buildings. The temple itself is a little spacey.

Stumbled into this temple and it was one of my favourites. Gorgeous building and loved the marble courtyard and monk doing a recitation. Also much cheaper than Wat Po and Wat Arun at 100 THB. Close to giant swing

Wow. This was a totally unexpected find. I didn't really know anything about this temple beforehand, I simply was walking around having an explore when I saw this golden jewel in the sky.

Wat Bowonniwet is a striking golden colored temple that really stands out. With bell shaped spirals this is one of the unique Bangkok temples.

It's not too big but still makes for an interesting exploration. With nice architecture, detailed statues, and lots of alters and structures to look around.

It can become very bright here with the reflection of the sunlight, so be careful of your eyes

The size of the Buddha is astounding! A beautiful temple precinct, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We found it easy to get to from Wutthakat Sky Train station, walking through back streets where we passed other temples along the way. We found a different way back along a main road. Definitely worth doing.

The two main halls in Wat Pathum Wanaram Rachaworawihan are beautiful. It is free to enter. The temple is between Siam Paragon and Central World.

It was really solemn and beautiful, with several temples in the area. As I have read, there are offerings that you may purchase.
