The good things are that everything is already arranged the transport place to stay and activities. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. I joined the trip at very last minute and it was still very smooth. They organised our park permits which would of been a hassle to get by our selves. The food is good but they try to make it more suited for American taste and I wish it was more Nepalese cuisine. The waiters and guides are extremely happy, smiley and nice and they bright up the whole place. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Once I booked the tour, the Himalayan Planet contacted me and confirmed the pick up arrangement. The day before the tour, they advised me the temperature difference between morning and daytime, asked me to prepare my hiking clothes accordingly.

My tour guide, Mr.Shishir Thapa showed up on time. He and the deiver were very polite and friendly.

During the Hiking, Mr.Thapa never rushed me anyrhing, he always gave me extra time to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful view. He was also very knowledgeable. Whatever question I asked, he had an answer.
He explained what's crops local farmer were growing winter season, name of the flowers and fruits by roadside, local customs, history and religion of Nepal, all were very interesting.
Since he was a very experienced mountain guide, he shared some story of trekking trips.

If you have not enough time to go for a long trekking but want see mountain, I highly recommend this tour with Mr.Shishir Thapa.

for travellers who explore the city by themselves, this package tour is recommended. well-organised timetable, informative tour guide, and a private car to help connect the scattered sites and make them viable in the single day, all together make it a reasonable introduction to the kathmandu city.

Wonderful experience. The tour operator picked me up at my hotel, had my ticket printed out and explained exactly where to go to check in. My flight was delayed two hrs due to fog and the driver waited for me. Amazing views up close to the mountains and a reliable knowledgeable tour operator. I highly recommend them.

This is a fantastic experience and the easiest way to get a good view of Everest without too much effort. The early start is definitely worth it. THe stewardess did a great job telling passengers what to look out for. Previous reviewers have said there is a chance to visit the cockpit for photos - that was not the case this morning. Also the window I had was dirty which meant the focussing of my iPhone became difficult - especially when trying to zoom. I appreciate that keeping external windows clean is difficult but the lady opposite me who bought wipes for window probably got better photos than me! I don’t know why they don’t supply them as it would not be expensive and make for a more enjoyable experience.
However, I did get some okay photos and this is more about the experience and is definitely to be recommended

This tour gives a precise and targeted overview of all the main UNESCO sites in Kathmandu. We had Shanti as our guide, and she is a wealth of knowledge -- happily explaining all the traditions and cultural aspects of each place we visited. Of particular interest was the Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple and sacred site right on the river, where there are cremation ceremonies daily. Shanti explained the entire process and gave a great explanation of the different ceremonial aspects involved in a Hindu cremation ceremony. We also enjoyed visiting Swayambhunath (and seeing all the local monkeys!) -- the views of the city from here were delightful. We were very fortunate to see the Kumari (an incarnation of the living goddess) during our visit to Durbar Square. All in all a great tour!

Booked this tour with Shepard Holidays Nepal, they were quick and accommodating in responding to my queries. We were assigned to Ankita. Sunrise at Nagarkot was beautiful and hike to ChanguNarayan was abt 2-2.5hrs with some views and small village along the way. ChanguNarayan was unfortunately under construction when we were there. The downside of this tour (as mentioned by some other reviews) was that the guide wasn’t very informative and kept rushing us even though my mom has trouble hiking too fast. We were later told she’s just a trekking guide not tour guide, perhaps we had our expectations too high because all the other guides we had from other tours were amazing and very considerate. Overall this tour is not too bad, as long as you don’t expect too much from the guide.

My favourite part of the experience was our time spent in Kathmandu. However, this was because I was only in Kathmandu as a travelling companion with my son. Trekking in Nepal had never been on my bucket list. However, the opportunity to visit an Asian city was great. The trekking was OK, and seeing the living conditions of the rural population was an eye opener.
Perhaps the trekking would have been more satisfying if the weather conditions had allowed distant views, but this was not to be. Apparently, this has been the case all year, (2022), and is something which Himalayan Sanctuary can do nothing about.

Don't go in June or July - monsoon season.
Best time to go - early Spring, Autumn or - if you want to avoid warm weather - go in December or January., but then there is a risk of snow.
