Excellent experience thanks to the fantastic tour by Tandin Wangchuk and the driver Lobzang Dendup.

I did the 5-day tour, but I would recomend 6 to 7 days for anyone looking for a more relaxed pace. Had a bit of everything, from the cultural tour, monastic stay, farmhouse stay, and finally, the 4-hour hike to the Tiger's Nest.

Time management was essential for my short stay, and Tandin did a great job pacing the tour, while Lobzang was always on time and ready to drive us to the next spot.

Heartful thanks to Bhutan Best Inbound Tour for arranging this trip. Hope I can visit again very soon!

Guide and drivers were great. We saw many ceremonies, great hikes and learned a lot about Bhutan ‘s history and religion. We have been on many Stanford tours and this one was certainly equivalent. Shout out to Leki, our guide.

This was a great tour! Acorn Tours did a phenomenal job with everything :D The days were really busy, but they were pretty flexible if we wanted to switch things around.

Our first visit to Bhutan couldn’t have been planned and executed better than that done by Bhutan Best inbound tour.
From the moment we arrived at Bagdogra airport everything was taken Care of. We met our guide Mr Tandin at the land border crossing in Jaigaon. Warm greetings followed by quick action for immigration formalities. Our driver Mr Lobzhang was waiting for us in Phuentsholing and in minutes we were at our hotel.

We had a 9 day trip covering Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha and Paro. The best resorts we liked were dhumra resort and trema linka. All others were excellent too. Only the one at phunsoling could ve been better

Mr Lobzhangs driving skills are incredible. That said he is a professional driver holding a PD license. You can sleep and chill in the winding roads and rest assured you’ll be taken care of till you reach your destination. He is also very humble and has an Excellent demeanour. Very helpful too.

Mr Tandin is a gentleman with good knowledge of Bhutan s history, religion, politics and what not. We were always engaged in interesting conversations throughout the journey. Of course he explained everything beautifully during the visit to various places and monasteries. He was very encouraging during tigers nest hike and ensured we not only summit but have a good experience

Ms Chimmi was the one who we kept troubling with our phone calls for the overall trip planning. Must say she was very patient and understanding and helped us plan an awesome trip.

For the readers, I would say don’t think about the SDF while visiting this beautiful country. The money is being put to good use and you’ll realise after visiting here!!
    Cheers and happy 2024

Explored Bhutan on a delightful 6-day tour with Bhutan Acorn Tours and Travel in October 2023. Bhutan, an enchanting and tranquil country, feels like a world of its own, surrounded by a profound spiritual ambiance. The warm locals contribute to its inviting atmosphere. The pre-trip communication was seamless, swiftly arranging flights and visas. Received valuable pre-departure tips, such as securing a window seat for a Himalayan view during the flight. In Bhutan, my guide Tshiring and driver Tashi were well-informed, adjusting the itinerary based on my interests and energy levels, making the journey enjoyable and effortless. Bhutan Acorn's accommodations were cozy, including a night in a farmhouse for an immersive cultural experience. Highly recommend embarking on an authentic Bhutanese journey with them, going beyond typical tours.

From the moment I reached out to Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel to inquire about a potential trip to Bhutan, Mr. Karma was extremely responsive, accommodating, and helpful. We had all sorts of information we needed to ensure our trip was successful.

Once we arrived in Bhutan, we were greeted by our personal guide (Mr. Tashi) and our driver (Mr. Nidup). Both gentlemen were with us, and only us, for the duration of our trip. Both are extremely personable and knowledgeable. We learned so much and laughed a lot. Mr. Tashi always ensured every restaurant or host accommodated my lactose intolerance. They both ensured we always had enough to eat and drink throughout our visit and made us as comfortable as possible throughout.

When an unexpected rainstorm hit us on our first day, Mr. Tashi recommended we change to a different hike/monastery since it would be less steep and muddy, which resulted in us getting an unexpected blessing/ritual bath from the lama (head monk) of the monastery. We saw so many amazing views and learned a ton about Buddhism and Bhutanese history and culture. We ended up changing our itinerary on the fly to exclude the Bumdrak Trek and camping for health reasons, which Mr. Tashi accommodated without complaint. We chose instead to trek up to Tiger's Nest and had the chance to meditate in one of the temple rooms for 30 minutes undisturbed. It allowed us to reflect on life’s journey that ultimately lead us here, the culmination of years of healing and personal growth. I'd highly recommend starting the trek early. We started around 6am and were pretty much the only people on the entire trek up. It made the trek so much more spiritual and personal for us. Mr. Tashi and Mr. Nidup provided us with their own personal trekking poles to use.

Some tips when visiting Bhutan: pack toilet paper with you as many of the public and/or rural restrooms do not have toilet paper, have hand sanitizer available as many also do not have soap, and get into hiking shape to truly enjoy the experience.

Bottom line...we absolutely loved Bhutan and plan to return. We would definitely go with Bhutan Acorn Tours & Travel again and highly recommend you check them out too. Ask for Mr. Tashi and Mr. Nidup if possible!

We cannot recommend this tour enough. From the planning stages to our departing flight everything and everyone in Bhutan was amazing. We flew out of Delhi midday and were immediately met with a beautiful view of the Himalayan mountains on our inbounds flight. Upon arrival we had a very easy customs experience through a truly unique and beautiful airport. Our guide and driver were waiting patiently ( our flight was late) and offered warm greeting and a traditional Bhutanese welcome scarf. Because of our late arrival we were taken straight to our first hotel, a tranquil building at the bottom of a mountain with beautiful views of the river and countryside. We enjoyed amenities such as local tea, spa with hot stone bath , masseuse and a quiet bar with local beer, wine and spirits. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and managed both western and eastern cuisine perfectly.

Our first stop the next morning was the Great Buddha Dordenma, a giant golden Buddha sitting on top a Thimphu mountaintop looking over the city. Offering breathtaking views and the history of Buddhism’s arrival and development in Bhutan, the great Buddha Dordenma was a fascinating and glorious testament to Buddha as well as the beauty of Bhutan.

Phup Tshering and Tandin Wangchuk were a wonderful guide/ driver combination. Phup is a gregarious wealth of knowledge and loved to share his passion of Bhutan with us as we visited different landmarks including Buddha Dordenma, the Tigers Nest and various monasteries and natural wonders that Bhutan has to offer. Tandin was a dutiful and patient driver who kept his eye on the road 100% of the time while navigating Bhutan's difficult mountainous curves and inclines. Both men were extremely patient with us and accommodated the varying interests of our group which spanned ages 40 thru 80. I cannot say enough about Phup and Tandin, our trip would not have been the same without them!

Bhutan was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I would recommend to anyone. From the people to the accommodations there was nothing we went without. It was a truly life changing trip as the Beauty of the natural wonders was equaled only by the beautiful philosophy that the Bhutanese people live by. We hope to return one day, and hopefully Phup and Tandin will be there to show us more of their great country!!

I embarked on a remarkable journey to Bhutan together with my sister in January 2024, and the entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the seamless online booking process to our departure from Paro, every moment was enchanting.

Our pre-travel communication with Mr. Karma from Bhutan Acorn was exceptionally smooth. His timely and detailed responses ensured we were well-prepared for the travel, and the efficient handling of the visa procedure by the agency allowed us to obtain the necessary permits promptly – within just four working days.

Our joy was further amplified by the presence of two outstanding Bhutanese guides, Tashi and Mr. Bumpa. They not only accommodated our last-minute preferences but also prioritized our safety and comfort throughout the journey. During hikes, they adjusted to our pace and made the challenging ascent to the Tiger's Nest enjoyable. Their insightful narratives on Bhutan's history and culture, coupled with their open-mindedness, great sense of humor and friendliness, made us feel like part of the family after just one week together. I will miss them enormously!

Bhutan, with its captivating isolation and authenticity, left a lasting impression. The people are intelligent and welcoming. For those choosing Acorn, I highly recommend opting for a homestay at Leki's in the Punakha Valley. This unique experience provided glimpses into the daily life of Bhutanese people, delightful home-cooked meals, and serene moments around the fire with the locals. The breathtaking view from the house ensured the most restful and profound sleep I've ever experienced.

  • Dema and Kencho met me at Paro airport coming in from India and I was immediately put at ease with their friendliness and Kencho's careful driving through the mountainous roads in a very comfortable, warm and solid SUV car.

Unfortunately I became very ill the next day (something I had eaten in India)and everyone, Dema, Kencho, Karma, Lhendup and the hotel staff were so caring and attentive and offered to take me to hospital. Luckily I was a lot better after a good sleep and some hydration salts they gave me. I felt comforted that I was in good hands being on my own in a foreign country.

The rest of the trip was amazing and I didn't feel that I had missed anything seeing monastaries, dzongs, a museum, shopping, lunch at a farmhouse, attempting archery and the beautiful scenary. The weather was beautiful and sunny during the day and the hotel rooms were warm and comfy at night. They made sure I was going at a pace I was happy with not feeling 100%.

I feel that I made some beautiful friends in Bhutan and I would love to return for a festival and do the Tiger Nest hike.

I definitely would recommend Acorn Tours who genuinely go above and beyond from the visa and flight bookings to caring for you as a person.

Thank you Dema, Kencho, Karma and Lhendup.

Karma and my guide Jorden Llamo created a very special, customized trip for me as a solo traveler. From the first contact, the team was attentive, warm and professional. I was in Bhutan for 18 days starting with an 8 day trek. Jorden was with me for the entire trip as she is both a trekking and a cultural guide. The Jomolhari trek was fantastic with beautiful Himalayan mountain views. I then toured the country east to Bumthang through the Chumey valley. The trip was exceptional! We had a phenomenal and highly skilled female driver Domo. Our all female team laughed a lot and garnered attention wherever we went. We were able to be flexible depending on weather, energy level, etc. It was a trip of a life time. I highly recommend Acorn Travel and would use there services again without hesitation.

I am one of four women who shared a vision of going to Bhutan. My friends and I would be considered “active seniors”. We wrote to a few companies and Bhutan Acorn was the first to respond. Bhutan Acorn continued to be responsive to every question and request we made. We were impressed by Karma P’s (the owner’s) efficiency, attention to detail as well as his patience.

We traveled in April 2023 to many sites and hiked many trails, ending in the Taktsang hike (Tiger’s Nest). Our guide, Thinley S, and our driver, Sonam D, deserve special recognition. As cultural ambassadors, they represented the best of Bhutan - knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind and good-humored.

Throughout the hikes and treks, our guide made sure that we were safe, that we got food that was compatible with our taste and that we were comfortable in our hotels. Our driver safely got us to our various destinations despite some tricky road conditions and made thoughtful gestures like getting cough drops when one of us developed a cough.

I should mention that, by my own fault, I sustained a wrist injury that required some medical visits. Thinley, Sonam and Karma did a lot of problem-solving so that my friends could continue enjoying their day while I saw the doctors. In this spontaneous situation (that is, out of the planned itinerary), I was touched by their personal and professional attention and care.

In terms of advice, I would say be sure to bring trekking poles, stay hydrated on the trails, be respectful to the land, the temples and those who guide and serve you. And don’t miss taking a stone bath!

All in all, I believe you will be very pleased if you travel with Bhutan Acorn. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful experience!! I only spent three days traveling solo in Bhutan but it was so much worth it! The places and sights I wanted to visit and see, from Tashichho Dzong to Paro Takstang and even more were all squeezed in such a short period despite the distance of locations! My highly knowledgeable tour guide Mr. Tashi Norbu and the careful driver were very friendly. Food at the selected restaurants and hotels was great, though I hope to have a bigger stomach so I could have finished all the very hefty servings! The staff at the hotels where I stayed were very accommodating. Rooms were very clean and tidy too.

I wish I could have stayed longer, but it just means I'll be coming back! Thank you World Tour Plan for a well-arranged private tour!

I fell in love with Bhutan while doing the Laya - Gasa trek, which is magnificent, challenging, and just a lot of fun. The landscapes in Bhutan are absolutely stunning, the history and culture fascinating, and the people incredibly generous. Life above the treeline is extraordinary. And World Tour Plan were an outstanding partner for this trip. From planning days with Mr Karma to enjoying the trek guided by Chencho Dorji and being carefully looked after by the crew Leki and Tshewang (their food is amazing!) - everything was smooth and well organised. The World Tour Plan team were always responsive and accommodating. They went above and beyond. And I am already planning my next Bhutan trek with them...
