Interesting collection but the salesmen or so desperate thus pushy that we didn't find a single moment to enjoy it, watch it, let alone buy something. Restaurant Graciana here is a good place for lunch

We have seen better markets, but that goes for almost everything in Maputo, so defenitely worth a look. Food and non-food here, lots of wigs.

There are lots of shops at this mall including a supermarket. In addition, they have restaurants ranging from Turkish to Indian. The Indian restaurant is supposed to be excellent. I ate at the Turkish restaurant and the food was excellent!

One of my highlights ever in Maputo. There plenty of reason fr coming and enjoying: fine art gallery promoting African contemporary art and young local artists as well, wonderful events location with gorgeous garden, jazz live music, bar and restaurant. Can't miss it!

At busy "Avenida 25 de Setembro", at the heart of Maputo's Baixa, you will notice the Brazilian flag at the top of a yellow building! This is "CCBM - Centro Cultural Brasil-Moçambique", inaugurated in 1989 and an active cultural center. It has an auditorium ("Auditório Vinícius de Moraes"), a library ("Biblioteca João Guimarães Rosa"), two art galleries ("Cândido Portinari" and "Djanira"), Portuguese classes for foreigners and a small café. In its efforts to strengthen the cultural ties between both countries, "CCBM" promotes film sessions, theater plays and art exhibitions. From its terrace, on the second floor, a nice view of Maputo's Baixa. Check its agenda and organize your visit. Enjoy!

CCFM is a great place to go see live music. They often have live shows on weekday evenings as well as weekends; atmosphere is often very good and events are well attended. The CCFM also houses a French library where you can find a decent selection of French books for children and there are often art exhibits on display in the lobbies.

It is a place where 4 design artists work and display their work (furniture, clothing, paintings, sculptures). It has a small but nice restaurant, in the back

Over the course of my 5+ years living in Mozambique, I had a chance to take the Maputo Top 10 Walking Tour with Egas on multiple occasions, each time he and the other tour operators were able to keep it fun and meaningful. I recommended the tour to every visitor that came in town, whether their visit was for business or pleasure. Each tour the visitors came away with a deeper and richer understanding of the areas covered. I highly recommend this tour!

Casa Elefante seems to be listed twice here at different locations, but neither is where I found the store. I visited this store today on Avenida de 25 de Septembre quite close to the railway station. and next to Las Vegas bar. (I am posting this on both listings.)

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit. The choice is huge - both in type of fabric, pattern and colour. Fabarics range from suiting, pretty childrens' cottons, traditional African batik print capalanas (sarongs) to political prints (great souvenirs). The quality is superb and the value is excellent. Staff are extra helpful and will pull out as many pieces as you want to see. Everything they have is on display - you will be spoilt for choice!

First of all, Dabanga is a wonderfully creative woman with a lovely little private atelier. If you want unique, made in Mozambique handcraft jewelry you need to contact her. A friend working in Maputo brought me to her and I bought several pieces. It was a great find in a city that isn't very touristy and has limited craft jewelry in the market. Dabanga upcycles local materials, using a lot of wood, stones, and metals. Most pieces are asymmetrical or have some sort of variation that makes them really interesting. Her designs range from small and plain, to elaborate, and are often featured in local magazines and fashion events (I follow her on instagram now, lol). The best part is that she is a really sweet, funny, worldly lady who can attend you in Portuguese, English, Swahili, or French. You have to contact her on Whatsapp at +258842293521 for an appointment to see her creations, and I think it is worth it. I get compliments on her pieces all of the time and several of them have become my most favorite earrings. I am really glad I listened to my friend and went to check out her stuff that day because I got some really cool, funky jewelry made by a local with local materials.

Alot of empty shops in the Mall, and the shopping centre was very quiet. I wonder why? There's nothing that I would go there for except Woolworths! I see even Ocean Basket now closed

Just five blocks up from Avenida 24 de Julho is Janet market. Mainly locals go here to buy daily necessities such as fresh vegetables and fruit. In contrast to the big supermarkets one does not see a lot of imported produce from South Africa. For this reason prices are generally low. There is also a section where wine is sold. Wigs for sale are another eyecatcher.
