What travellers are saying
- Jeri FTulsa, OK387 contributionsThis is a small museum near Majorelle garden. There is a temporary exhibit space and the galleries for the designer’s clothing. The clothing is stunning; it allows the viewer to really see the design and incredible construction of the garments. If you have ever sewed or watched Project Runway, you can appreciate the effort to detail and perfection in these garments. There was also a film we didn’t have time to see.Written 2 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Avux99Cheshire, UK1,966 contributionsA nice upmarket experience in Marrakesh. We paid for the Museum of Confluences 70MAD & straight away picked up the buzzer for the Bacha Coffee cafe. Had to check 90 minutes later, it turned out we were next to be buzzed in. Building & garden is stunning, museum is ok, coffee shop not exactly cheap but not bad value, each coffee pot yields about 3 small cups of coffee.Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KatielouAustraliaHobart, Australia2,039 contributionsThe oldest museum in Marrakech set in a 19th century palace. The official name is the Museum of Moroccan Arts and with a 70 dirham entrance fee it is well worth a visit. See some of Marrakech's oldest objects, including Berber jewelry, rugs, and many antiquities.Written 22 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Avux99Cheshire, UK1,966 contributionsThe museum isn’t perfect as others have said, there is a lack of English information but it’s in a nice building with an amazing metal chandelier and is only 50MAD entry.Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - thaisfunciaSao Paulo, SP360 contributionsIt’s a nice small museum in the middle of the Medina. You can easily get there with Google Maps. Entre is 50dhs (around 5 euros per person) and you go by yourself. It’s a Museum in a Riad. Nice and interesting. Was our first time ever learning about perfume making. The “tour” takes around 30/45 min and at the end you can make your own perfum. You can select the fragrances and make your own. Price depends on the kind of fragrances you choose. We end up not making our own. Was a nice visit overall.Written 14 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Silvia10 contributionsI really fell for this house. Without knowing this wonderful house was located there, I always wanted to follow the small aisle there, instead of going to the Riad I was staying. When I arrived, the owner was there as well and I, with two people from Germany, received a private tour. The stories the carpets tell are amazing. I would definitely go back and enjoy it once again!Written 7 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Poka14 contributionsA stunning collection of Berber artifacts that really deserves a much larger exhibition space in order to fully appreciate and have time to enjoy.
Mini queues and bottlenecks formed as you made your way around because layout and display design was meandering and constricted.
Shop and merchandise disappointing.
That said go early, don't miss it!Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s recommended that you book a seat in advance which was free to do so. We got a 45 minute performance. 100MAD gets you entrance to the museum, the concert & a mint tea afterwards. If you pay for entrance, your ticket entitles you to free entrance to the sister establishment, the photography museum. The museum has a hands on room where you can play on some of the instruments.Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patricia BrennanOrte, Italy192 contributionsThis is a small museum containing a private collection of modern art - about 100 works dating back through the past century. It is interesting. The gardens at the back of the museum are really lovely, especially the fascinating "jardin sec". Well worth the visit. A taxi from Marrakech centre will cost about 100 dh each way and it is wise to have the driver to wait for you because it will not be easy to pick up a taxi here.Written 2 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Gallery PriveLondon, UK79 contributionsThis place is a homage to feminine arts! We literally stumbled upon this place and so happy we did! Hafida Zizi's was exhibiting, her collective works are a testament to the daily lives of women and their major role in their communities. Vibrant, bold and optimistic. They tell stories that transcend social and cultural barriers while shaking up the usual language customs. This is a must see visit for anyone visiting! - LaJarrieSouthampton, UK522 contributionsBuilding interior, especially the ceilings, impressive but the footfall from visitors is taking it's toll, and it is looking tired in places. Not an issue for us, but many of the descriptions were only in French and Arabic. Most interesting was the collection of traditional jewellery.Written 9 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - QPixelsSouthampton, UK426 contributionsThe Moroccan Culinary Art Museum is a hidden gem nestled behind its medieval ochre walls in the heart of the medina, not far away from the Bahia Palace. The museum is located in an 18th-century Riad, meticulously renovated to maintain its original charm. It boasts two interior courtyards. The central courtyard is adorned with a stunning Carrara marble fountain surrounded by olive trees and two lavish salons. (You can order and sip your drinks here!). The museum's three floors are dedicated to showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Morocco, with exhibitions carefully curated to take visitors on a journey through various aspects of local cuisine, from the origins of spices to the art of table setting. But even if one is not interested in the historical aspects of Morrocan food-making, the architecture of the riad makes it worth a visit.Written 25 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Leanne H6 contributionsA really nice experience in a beautifully designed and curated space. we had to get a taxi ride to the gallery but it was well worth it. We were very blessed and ended up being the only people in the gallery which made the experience feel intimate and quite profound as the building is incredible.
I like art but wouldnt say im a full blown art connoisseur or anything like that. I didn't realise/think that the artist in residences work - Joël Andrianomearisoa would be the whole gallery. At the time i was hoping to see other artists work as well. Joel has a style that did not/has not initially resonated with me fully, but i'm open to revising my thoughts and exploring where they might lead, which im guessing is the point of contemporary art.
staff were kind, space was truly epic and the gardens felt touched special energy vibration. i recommend taking of your shoes and feeling the grass between your toes and listening to the birdsWritten 14 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
