- Janka KBrno, Czech Republic9,149 contributionsI appreciate how nicely reconstructed the building is. You will learn about how much work it was from a video played on a screen in one of the exposition rooms.
An entrance ticket to this museum is also not as expensive as at some other museums/touristic places in Marrakesh.Written 12 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carlos F17 contributionsComfortable, well organize and clean. The trip from Marrakech to Casablanca took us 2hours and 40minutes. The train drove fastly and smoothly. - Chris PAlicante, Spain142 contributionsLovely, cozy little shop with genuine products and non-pushy staff. We felt super well treated and bought quite some products. The nice owner even offered us tea (before we bought anything).Written 6 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HINA WIslamabad, Pakistan7,341 contributionsThis gate is situated after Bab Debbagh. It was built in 1126 AD. It is one of the original Almoravid entrances. It is named after the Berber guards from the Banu Aylen Tribe who used to be posted here. This is a historical gate. A battle took place here in 1129 AD. The city was stormed by the Almohad army, they besieged the city. When they tried to enter from this gate they were stopped, from invading Marrakech, by the brave Berber guards. It is a simple ochre coloured gate near Oued Issil. It is located next to the Qadi Ayyaz Mosque.Written 7 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LeonhknyHong Kong, China23,255 contributionsThe palace in Marrakesh is an unremarkable structure near the medina. There is no signboard or information on site and security presence is heavy. Not open to public, it is not really a tourist attraction.Written 7 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HINA WIslamabad, Pakistan7,341 contributionsBab Taghzout is a strange gate. Although it is one off the 12 original Almoravid gates but it is not connected to the ramparts. There is a very interesting reason why this gate stands in the centre of the Medina. It is because the shrine of the twelfth-century Sufi saint Sidi Bel Abbes lies close to it. During the 17th century sultan Moulay Ismail built a pilgrimage path around the tombs of the seven holy men of Marrakech. After this the area grew into a thickly populated residential neighbourhood, so much so that the city wall was extended to encompass it. It is a beautiful gate with a wooden awning. The wall perished but the gate still stands as an oddity.Written 15 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ruth RMarrakech, Morocco2 contributionsAll I can say is be very careful in this area, you will be constantly hassled, especially at the Tanneries. Be prepared to say a very abrupt NON!Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- HINA WIslamabad, Pakistan7,341 contributionsThis gate was constructed on the Southern side of the Medina to defend the city. It was built during the Almohad Period by Yaqub Al Mansur. It’s name has interesting connotations. Some people believe that it was named Rabb or God. Others hold the opinion that it was named after an alcoholic fruit beverage popular among the Almohads. The gate was also used to deliver figs, berries and fruits to the city dwellers. Bab er-Robb is a unique gate because it is the only one located in a corner of the city walls. Nowadays there is a pottery shop in this gate.Written 28 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
