There is a reason this is the most photographed place in the United States. The bike ride there was rewarding- the hikes and views were 5 stars.

Breathtaking drive up from Aspen and breathtaking views and road along the way.
Well worth the extra hour+ to go this way back to I-70…you will want to stop and enjoy the views at Independence mining area. The pass itself, as well as other spots that intrigue you.
Breathtaking and grandiose, and exciting with no rails and one lane roads clinging to the mountainsides.
Well worth your time to drive this.

Fun ride up to the summit of Aspen Mountain. We took the complimentary 45 minute nature hike (which was worth doing) and then continued on along the Ridge Trail for another 30-40 minutes before turning around. It was a gorgeous summer day, and it was magnificently quiet among the aspens. Nice views of the city from the gondola. We contemplated hiking up or down the mountain but in the end, taking the gondola was the better choice. We weren’t impressed by the food options at the top (ski resort caferteria), so we opted not to eat up there.

Google Maps took us to a recycling place, but it was close by. We walked here from our hotel, and we never found a clear entrance. It was a pretty area, and we liked out the water flowed throughout We ended up spending about 30 minutes walking around

Easy hike and worth the stop. Very cool rock formations and waterfalls. Even if you don't go off the trail into the "ice caves," you'll still enjoy the hike and scenery. Parking can be crowded and difficult.

What a fabulous bike ride. Trail is quite flat but scenery is amazing. We even had a black bear cross the trail in front of us. Would recommend this ride for anyone in the area!

Great experience. You need to reserve a free online shuttle and park at the Aspen Highland Parking Deck $6/hour--$40 max day. We hiked to the Crater Lake (ROCKY) (preferred/less crowded) and the smaller Maroon Bells Lake-CROWDED. Very accommodating. Very organized to hand the larger crowds.

Great ski mountain, not easy way down. Experts only, I don’t recommend for newbies or small kids.
Not many stops for eating or bathroom. Excellent long runs

Best snow of the four mountains and zero waits. Tried all the mountains and kept returning to Buttermilk. More sun to get on the mountain so the snow was best at Buttermilk over Highlands and Aspen Mountain. Stuck to Tie Hack and Summit Express (got a little icy towards the very bottom). Amazing to be here the first week of January and experience zero waits in any lift lines. Only sort of negative and this is probably because it was early in season was the Summit Express and Tie Hack chair lifts - getting off the lift was very aggressive for a snowboarder as it was very fast and steep and that's from a seasoned boarder. Could use adding more snow to make it not so aggressive on speed and limited time to prep to get off the lift.

If you like advanced skiing or snowboarding this is the place for you. Although it does have easy runs. The thing I love most about this mountain is that there are a ton of wood trails. Definitely recommend it

About 2 hours round trip and heavy rocky paths. Not too kid friendly with all the rocks and boulders, but a great view at the top.

Rented E-Bikes and road up Castle Creek Road to eat at Pine Creek Cookhouse! Breathtaking views along the way! Just beautiful. Saw many riders both on regular bikes and e-bikes..
