We had a very pleasant walk four miles upstream from our hotel to another destination. We had been there a year before, but this was a more ambitious walk.

The path is well maintained and attractive. It is a great place to spend some time, whether you are using it to go somewhere or just to unwind.

This was a fun visit to a fascinating museum. The Navy is planning a new museum but right now the museum is housed in the Navy Yard, an active Naval Base, one of the oldest we have. It is chock full of historic artifacts that tell the story of the U.S. Navy from its infancy up to the present day. You will need to plan ahead as the museum is only open on Saturdays, from 10-4, and you need an escort due to security. We had a wonderful escort walk us through the Navy Yard, who told us about the history and significance of the base. Staff at the museum were also welcoming and informative.

On our way out we walked along the boardwalk of the Anacostia River towards the nearby neighborhood commercial district.

The Navy Yard is right near a spot with good restaurants so afterward we had ice cream at Jubilee, and Italian food at Morini. I would highly recommend both.

I've been to DC many times. Each time I try to choose something new to see. Clara Barton's missing soldiers museum is definitely worth a visit especially if you've been to many of the other museums in the area many times. The ladies at the front desk are very welcoming. The research and work put into this site are fascinating. I really learned a lot about Ms. Barton, her staff and the absolutely daunting effort they made to help families discover what happened to their loved ones during the Civil War. They restoration of the site that takes you back to the 1860s was clear to see. If you are tired of the same DC sites and want to see something new and different then go to this museum.

Spent a couple of hours at this quiet museum devoted to the National Guard. I didn't know to much about their history or role and this museum, with well thought out displays and pictorial history, was able to give me a much better insight.
I was given a warm welcome and an explanation as to what could be seen over the two floors
Less than 5 minutes walk from Union Station this small museum should be a must for those interested in US history or if you have a military connection or legacy.

This is a nice small museum commemorating the contributions of Jews in American wars. It took us 2 hours because we read a lot of the documents.
