We loved our visit at the library. I loved the exhibits, the opportunity to peak inside the actual library while people are researching there, the niceness of staff.

The Thomas Jefferson Library is stunning and so well documented. The photographs exhibit that was there was pretty cool too. The treasures are indeed treasures to be seen.

We went on Halloween Thursday during one of the Thursday's Live at the library events. We put on costumes, grabbed a drink and walked around collecting candy to the sound of DJ music. It was very very cool.

We had a great tour of the Capitol. We had booked for 9:30 AM, and it was full of youth tour groups before us. I guess a suggestion might be to go a bit later when they are in. We booked directly on the website on the opening day for tickets for the day we wanted.

It was very well organized and our tour guide was very informative. I liked to see the old Senate with the markings on the floor and multiple statues from the different states. It is neat to see staffer walk by too.

We didn't get to see the actual senate or house rooms. I would say the tour with waiting was about 90 minutes. It is walking up and down steps, so if you need accessibility, please be sure to confirm that and path ahead of time.

Strange to rate. I think it's specific to each person but it was interesting to see during the holidays. It was dressed up even more because of the season. Gave a cute and yummy chocolate at the end. Have that ID ready cause it will be checked to death. Like....a lot but makes sense. Pictures are possible but everyone will photo bomb you mistakenly as theres many people on the tour in a limited space. Downloaded the app but it wasn't much help beyond entrance.

The Smithsonian Institution Building is very beautiful from the outside, and it is nice just to walk all along the perimeter and admire the detail of the building.

I really liked how you can walk around the inside of the Supreme Court. There are a lot of displays to read and get informed on the US justice system and the supreme court. When we went, there was also an exhibit on women judges.

We were priviledged to be able to go to a lecture inside the hearing room. The lecturer was most informative. She then answered all questions we had. It was very cool to be seated where justice that affects the USA everyday is made.

    THEY SAY MORE IS MORE….

….which is something I finally began to understand after viewing this; the biggest office building in the world.
I mean the place has its own SUBWAY STOP and BUS STATION (and I noticed many bus departures were for places not close to the DC area).
Lack of time and uncertainty of visiting date meant I didn’t book a tour, but simply walking around the outside of this place gave me a good idea of how awesome it is. Particularly when it seemed to be shift-change time with thousands of employees heading for the transport facilities.

Is it worth the visit if you have no internal tour arranged? Well to me it was – just an oversight of the awesome size was enough, but I was given an extra moving bonus of being able to access the 9-11 MEMORIAL** outside. A definite plus.

TIPS – access to the area for non-drivers is a breeze. DC’s good metro can get you from central city to the PENTAGON stop in 12 mins.
But public parking is not available – nearest is PENTAGON CITY MALL** (10 mins walk).
    - it’s maybe not such a good idea to take pix of the building. I didn’t know, and no authorities jumped me – hence the pix with this report. But those authority people have no senses of humour. Not a good bunch to mess with.
    - one exterior area you can photograph and is worth a visit is the 9-11 MEMORIAL SITE** near the south-west corner of the building. Very moving. Note it will be closed for renevations until late May 2020.

Exhibits were exceptional and volunteers most helpful. However, our first guide we couldn't hear well and when we mentioned it to him, he didn't change his voice volume. Consider a microphone so all can hear and understand.

Great for anyone interested in learning about our paper (really it's fabric)money printing process and how it's secured until issued. The free guided tour is about 40 minutes long and you could spend another 5-45 minutes in the gift shop/museum displays at the end depending upon your interest. I showed up at 9:45am on a Wednesday and was able to take the 10am tour. I left around 11:45 and afternoon tours were still available. FYI The ticket booth is on one side of the building and the tour entrance on the opposite side. No photography is allowed.

This is a must see. Many people might want to see how our country is actually ruin and this is a good opportunity. If you plan ahead, you can see a congressional session live. It may seem a bit boring but it is worth it. Don’t miss it.

Beautiful building near The White House. Although during Sep 2023 quite a large chunk of it was being renovated and covered up. Although the front part of the building and main signage was still visible

We walked by and took some photos as we were touring the area. I believe they have tours and opportunities to go in, but we did not do that. Something we hope to do next time though! Very beautiful to walk around and see!

This tour is a treat if you like history and all its accoutrements. These reception rooms are full of historical items and a delight to behold. There are all sizes of rooms and all are opulently furnished.

My group was small, so our guide was able to give us more in depth information. And an event set-up was in progress during the tour, so we saw first-hand how everything was set up.

My benchmark is this: if you enjoyed Mt. Vernon, you'll love the tour.

Best of all...it's free! But arrive early as you must go through security.

In a city must see attractions this is easily a skip. If you happen to be walking by while on your way to other attractions look up as you walk but don't waste precious DC time trying to see this.

My brother is a recent aerospace engineer grad so we stopped by the building to see the displays and visit the gift shop for some cool souvenirs. Then someone let us know about the library on the east side of the building. We went and the staff was so friendly and enthusiastic! They gave us a short tour and then had tons of FREE books, stickers, posters, notebooks, etc and told us to help ourselves. My kids LOVED the things I brought back for them. This was a fun, unexpected experience in DC and I highly recommend it!

Together with the Smithsonian "castle" the Sidney Yates Building are completely different from other structures in Washington. The Yates Building (previously a part of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and referred to as the "Auditors Building") now houses the USDA Forest Service. They have some displays inside, but not really a museum.
