What travellers are saying
- Kay7979Western NY400 contributionsWe visited a few wineries during our vacation, and this was our favorite. Our tasting was a fun experience. We chatted with other guests since the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. Everyone was having a good time and felt at home here. It's obvious that the family takes a lot of pride in their wines and ciders, and we liked everything we tried. There is something for every palate from sweet to dry, and make sure to try a cider donut as well. Delicious!Written 29 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gery MBoston, MA73 contributionsI didn't know what to expect from a coastal vineyard, and I was delightfully surprised by Truro Vineyards. The staff were warm and welcoming, attentive, but not overly so. There was a range of wines and spirits to explore, though I focused on their sauvignon blanc, which was so good, I got a bottle to bring home. Charming, with cute nooks for different size groups to enjoy. Welcoming to all with the food and ice cream trucks, right next to the distillery and wine hollow. So happy I got to spend time here.Written 16 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christy HJonesboro, Arkansas195 contributionsCame for a Sunday Fall afternoon for the winery tour. Very interesting and great wine samples. After the tour we got a table on the lawn and enjoyed a bottle of wine, the live music and each others company. Great little spot!Written 16 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Celia48dHamden, CT136 contributionsMy sister and I recently visited. The outdoor area is nice, although it was a very warm and humid day. Wine was good, I got a Chardonnay and my sister tried the sangria. Very tasty! We also shared a charcuterie board.
Waitstaff very friendly and efficient. The only negative were the porta potties, which I’m sorry, I just cannot do.Written 17 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We even bought some cider to bring home from our trip.

Their staff is beyond friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They have a unique variety of dry wines which are incredible and they have some sweet as well for those who prefer that.Written 8 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Keysha SNassau, New Providence Island1 contributionSuch a quiant and inviting atmosphere. The host interacted with us and had lively conversations about his wines. The wines they produced were amazing. I totally enjoyed my time spent there. It is a hidden treasure and definitely worth the visit while in Boston.Written 13 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steven THarrisville, RI444 contributionsLet me start by saying Hardwick Winery is one of our favorite places to chill on a weekend afternoon when we’ve got nothing going on and just want to relax with a flight. They have a wonderful selection of products and very helpful staff.
That said, we recently tried their Maple Barn Breakfast and while the food was tasty enough, the timed seatings make it real difficult to have nice relaxed Sunday brunch. Would I recommend it? Sure. But to spend more time to drive there than you get to sit and eat, takes away from the enjoyment of that particular event.Written 21 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter D1 contributionWe were thoroughly impressed with their award winning wines. Its a shame that they are closing but I brought back 4 cases of the Estate Marlborough and 2 of the Entourage anticipating their increase in value! As a wine sommelier I am confident that there Marlborough estate wine is a collectible.Written 12 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maurene_KDover, NH12,275 contributionsWhen Mill River Winery opened in July 2011, I happened by while en route to Ipswich and Essex. I was one of the first visitors.
When I arrived this time about 4:00 PM, people were the bar doing flight tastings.
I browsed the refrigerated case for cheese. I got a wedge of Piave. It was a new cheese to me. Inquiring about it, I learned that it was an Italian cow's milk cheese named after the Piave River. It had a protected designation. Only cheese produced in the Dolomites in the Province of Belluno in the Veneto Region can use that name. I was told that It had won several gold and silver medals at world and European cheese expositions. Later, at home, I checked it online. It was true. It was a hard cheese with a mild, sweet, delicate taste. The staffer recommended pairing it with Zinfandel or other fruity wine. It also went well with full-bodied red wines such as Barolo, Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec, Burgundy, Pinot Grigio, and their own Mill River Winery Breaking Point.
I sampled the Mill River Winery Nancy’s Cannon and the Mill River Winery Breaking Point. I favored the latter. It was a Pinot Noir-style dry, medium-body red wine with fruity berry notes and accents of vanilla from French Oak barrel aging. The finish was dry. I got a bottle at $16.95.
It was good to see how this small winery had grown in 6 years.
I rate Mill River Winery at 4.50. I will visit again.

It’s kinda pricey but not something I do all the time, so what the heck. You can sit at tables inside or outside. We opted for outside cuz we brought a picnic lunch, appetizers really. They have picnic tables (some with umbrellas) outside. You can see the vineyard out there.the only gripe we had was one lady in our group got a skimpy pour on her last drink. Wasn’t there any left? Who knows.
Very pleasant experience. Yes, I would do it again.Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were so happy to spend a good part of our afternoon here. We did wine tasting, sampled (bought chocolate) ate from the food truck and listened to live music. They have a very nice set up. It was Crush Fest and they even had an area where you could crush grapes yourself. Really nice day out.Written 15 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
