What travellers are saying
- Rob MNewport News, VA4 contributionsI try to go on this ferry a couple of times every year on a trip from south to north and back. It’s not always during the holidays or the summer or even weekends but I enjoy it so much, sort of like an extension to my trip. This time was during the holidays as well as on a weekend, the crowd may have been a bit different with more younger people with children and more pet owners than when I usually travel but it was just as enjoyable. The food although the “fastest” imaginable which is intended as a snack is always a treat as we watch the water as we eat and talk. We try to get there early so that we can get a table which are all next to a window. All in all I would recommend this mode of travel to anyone going from DE to NJ and or back. Whether you’re on foot, with a bike or in a vehicle, you won’t regret the adventure! It’s a tiny thing, I know, but it’s nice.Written 31 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- synTorontoToronto, Canada1,534 contributionsLocated on the coast at Lewes, this state park is interesting as grows out of a beach sand environment which makes its trees and vegetation quite fragile. Inside you can find deer, paved paths, remnants of the previous military base (still have sealed bunkers built into the earth), pine forest and sand dunes and you can also go up a fire lookout tower. You can camp or just day trip.
At the time of year we came it was free to enter and no issues to park.
Car routes are a little confusing but there are decent signs.
Overall: A nice spot for an easy walk.Written 31 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This incredibe DuPont family mansion was gorgeous, extremely well maintained and a must-see historical site for anyone visiting northern Delaware or the greater Philadelphia / Wilmington region. The daily pass provides access to the mansion, the gardens and the Chauffers' garage, which houses several Rolls Royce cars and other family vehicles. Don't miss the gift shop, housed in a separate building that served as the mansion's laundry. Very knowledgeable and friendly docents provide an intimate look into the lives of the DuPont family members.Written 27 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew BWashington DC, DC5 contributionsWe had a wonderful visit to the museum on 2/1/2025. We had a fantastic tour guide, Stan Peters. He was knowledgeable, personably, and friendly. He made the visit, which was amazing into itself, even better.
The museum is packed with planes, inside and outside, artifacts, displays, and simulators. You can do a quick visit (1-2 hours) or much longer. Highly recommend and ask for Stan Peters!Written 3 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - clherrickMechanicsburg, PA970 contributionsA happy place no matter your age. Play or just wander. Food. Games. Sun, sometimes. We’ve been at every time of year from the crowds of summer to biting winds of winter.Written 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TaniaSpringfield, VA8 contributionsWe remained on Fenwick Island but chose to visit a beach in Delaware rather than Ocean City to try something new. We were blown away by Bethany Beach's cleanliness and serene vibe!!

This is a place that creates lasting memories… a lifetime of memories. My Wife and I had our first visit together here for our honeymoon, and over the last quarter century have returned, and returned and returned! First off, Rehoboth offers a vast flat sandy beach that gives you anything from walking the beach, lounging under umbrellas, swimming, light surfing and boating – maybe some fishing thrown in. It has the best and longest of boardwalks south of Atlantic City presenting everyone with the expected junk and fun eats anywhere. Cotton candy, fish tacos, snow cones, popcorn and amusements. There are Italian restos galore, but you can’t go without getting seafood with the myriads of styles of crab, shrimp, fish and you name it. Whether you’re into Bob Evans, Friendly’s or Cracker Barrel, or more sophisticated and tasty bites at Victoria’s or down-to-earth at Rehoboth Diner the options and varieties are huge! This intimate village-like small-town has done an exceptional job of keeping modernity at bay in the sense of its unique style yet with up-to-date conveniences. With a population of barely 1200 residents, it still does not eschew its origins from when the town was founded in 1873 with its nostalgic homes, excellent water quality, village vibe all has contributed to 5-Star ratings. But the beach itself is the main draw for us. The Mid-Atlantic offers very little of homey beaches, old fashioned and traditional conveniences, creature comforts and elegance. Rehoboth Beach, to us, is in the Top Ten beach destinations in the country. Enjoy and relax should be this town’s motto!Written 26 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 47Merlin1951Cheshire, CT109 contributionsWe visited in the winter when the house was decorated for Christmas and it was a lovely experience. Based on what we saw and read it looks like this would be an even better visit in the spring or summer when the gardens are in full bloom. All the staff we encountered were knowledgeable and friendly and bent over backwards to be helpfulWritten 17 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mac m1 contributionThe Hagley museum is such an amazing experience, from the very knowledgeable and accommodating staff, amazing architecture, warm atmosphere, it felt very welcoming. I proposed to my amazing wife-to-be and the staff here couldn’t have been more helpful and happy to help me make this experience all that I hoped for. We’re so glad this beautiful place was the perfect venue for our proposal. It’s even wheelchair accessible and they allowed our photographer. We can’t recommend this place enough! We will be back soon!Written 5 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- funzie66Marlboro, NJ2 contributionsThe beach and shops are lovely. However, there is no real boardwalk with benches overlooking the ocean like NY or NJ. Bring your own beach chairs if you want to sit and look out on the water. This is not really criticism, just know what to expect when they say boardwalk.Written 26 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
