The Old Town is the reason we came to Estonia. We are on a do-it-yourself three week trip to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. One stop in the capital city and one stop in an interesting destination in each country. Since our Airbnb was located on the edge of Old Town, we could easily explore the cobbled streets. Beautiful.

We absolutely loved this museum. We got a taxi from our hotel & the museum staff were kind enough to organise a return taxi for us. The museum is housed in a purpose built hangar, which is worth the entrance price alone. We visited oi a cold December day & there were a few people there but it wasn't crowded,. This was beneficial as it meant we were able to explore the submarine exhibit without queuing. There is a great deal to see, coupled with a lovely coffee shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A mis-read hotel address took us unnecessarily up into this part of town. We returned later (without our luggage) to see the cathedral and a couple of good viewpoints over the city.

Beautiful town square surrounded by cafe’s & restaurants. Late afternoon it’s the place to be. There is ample free seating so you are not forced to overpay for coffee just to sit. Late night it’s very quiet. Surrounded by beautiful buildings too. I stayed in an apt overlooking the Town Square; loved it.

Free admission, donations welcomed. Stunning ornate interior; we stood for 10 minutes absorbing the feeling. Exterior looks to be in "line new" condition; bright fresh paint. Iconic place.

Well maintained park with lots of flowers, shrubs, trees and grassy areas. It was fun to see robot lawn mowers working the green areas as I wandered around in this peaceful setting. Gardeners were also hard at work to keep the area looking so nice. Excellent paths for walks in every direction. Some attractive water features add to the look. Nice and peaceful but not that far from the town, or the coast road. Kids areas and museums are nearby. Plus you have the art museum with its beautiful house and manicured flower displays a short walk. From here I walked down to the coast road and walked back to town. Good work out.

We had a terrific time here. Spent hours wandering along the paths touring many of the 100+ buildings. Multi-lingual signs, including English, were everywhere. And, we downloaded the free MUNI app that included an interactive map and audio guide for most of the buildings. Very well done. First class experience. This place reminded us of the Frontier Culture Museum in Stanton, Virginia; but much much larger.

A visit to this church is a must if you want to see Tallinn and the Old Town with the clearest 360 view. The narrow stone stairs takes you to the tower which offers the best view in the city from what seems to be the tallest building in the city.
The cost to enter is 5 euros and you need to be prepared to climb the narrow winding stairs. So if your knees or legs are weak then forget it. It's a definite must do.

We took advantage during our walks around Old Town of the many opportunities to walk near or through the wall. Hard to imagine the amount of labor involved in sourcing the stone and then constructing the wall. Impressive.

An excellent experience as always, an amazing set of very diverse exhibitions, I particularly loved "melanie bonajo: When the body says Yes+", spent an hour there,
the generally pleasant atmosphere, the absolute favourite bookshop and cafe.

We visited the square on many occasions during our visit to Tallinn.

The town hall is a focal point standing prominently in the square and really adds to the character of the place.

Excellent views of the surrounding countryside and the sea with Tallinn in the distance. Excellent indoor views plus glass floor areas dotted about. The floor has activities for young kids as well as a vr experience at an extra cost. Good outside viewing area and small openings to take clear pictures of the views. You can also see the place where, if you are brave enough, you can arrange to walk on the edge in a harness. Not for me! Lovely views of the greenery down below and distant coast line areas.

Nice cafe and restaurant area here too. Plain and simple but some nice cake treats and coffee. Excellent gift shop with a lot to tempt you. Enjoyed the simple history section on the lower floor too with loads of photos and interesting info on the construction. They also had a stained glass exhibition area. Good staff too.

Can be reached by hop on and off bus and normal bus. I went via Uber. Not bad price.
