Amazing cave, professional guides. We had sucha agood time going under to the cave from the hot city. I wore no extra clothes, everybody dressed up using blankets, sweaters etc. For me it was a pleasant chang in temperature. Very humid down there and expect to go to a wonderland.

Natural underground limestone tunnels or caves network, as extensive as what is existing in Budapest was not something I was aware of until I visited one such - the Szemlo-Hegyi Barlang so close to the capital. It was an easy access to the location travelling by public bus. There were tours arranged on a set time table and prior to commencement a fine screen presentation was held in a projection room to familiarise with what was to be seen with our own eyes a little while later. Presentation and explanations by the guide was in English and it was very clear and interesting. Caves themselves were exciting as they were having natural geological formations and Calcium based minerals developed that may have taken millions of years to reach the current status. There were limestone formations and shapes resembling corals in the sea or imaginary solidified fireworks, pop corns or cauliflowers.

After descending through a passage the temperature in the corridors of the caves were cool but manageable. Interesting formations were lit up so as the path way to guide the visitors. The limestone cave at Szemlo-Hegyi of Budapest was smaller to some other caves I have visited before but somewhat exciting.

My boyfriend and i had this included in our Budapest card, and it was a free experience.
First of all, as we stayed on the Pest side and the cave is on Buda side, it was an hour long journey to get there ( not a problem, as free public transport is also included in the budapest card), but we had to exchange three busses to get there. Beware of the fact that around that specific area there aren't many many things to see or do besides the cave, so if you are looking for a place to eat or drink or have any other activity, i suggest you plan it ahead and search on the map for things to see.
We arrived just as the tour started, as the public transport was a bit slow that day. We weren't even asked if we wanted to wait for the other tour to start (every hour), we just presented our card and there was a lady that told us to quickly install an app for the audioguide and the rushed us inside the cave as the tour was in process already.
We didnt have the time to properly set up the app, nobody told us how to, there were some instructions but as we were rushed we didnt have time to read it all. And so the tour started, they were already in the cave, we lost no.1 and 2 on the audioguide which were outside, as we didnt have time to listen.
As we walked in, the tour was in hungarian, even tough the majority of people didnt speak hungarian. We were about 15 people and only 5 spoke hungarian, yet the tour was in full hungarian. The only things that were said to us in english,in a rush , were : Dont touch the walls and follow me. That is all.
I dont think its okay to do such a thing and also i think there should be an option to choose when you want to go inside. Being rushed isnt part of a good experience in my opinion.
The guide was making lots of jokes and only 5 people reacted as all of the others didnt understand a thing that was being said.
It is not ok at all to go and not understand anything. The audioguide wasnt working as we didnt have the time or proper explanation for it.

The cave was extremely nice, i would've loved to know everything about it, as i am very interested in the matter. Well, maybe next time.
