What a great tour ... I can't stress nigh how many times we have been given a hearing device and told to hear the commentary and how awful they are ....

But what I can say ... this was totally opposite ... the commentary was spot on and excellent and informative ...

The tour is guided by a security guard and one must be at the entrance to go thru metal detectors like an airport a couple of minutes before your designated time.

Once on the self walking tour the information given is excellent ... it's a short 45 minutes but you enter the main rooms and get to see the Hungarian crown jewels which are spectacular to say the least.

I never felt rushed and really thought it was a highlight of our trip.

Entrance fee is a bit steep but I think it was worth it ... YOU must get tickets at least 2/3 weeks in advance especially for the weekends.

    Highly recommend it ...

Once again about a landmark situated on the castle hill of Budapest - the Sandor Palace - the current home of the Hungarian presidents.
It has been built in the early 1800's ( between 1803 and 1806) - the palace was commissioned by Vincent Sandor - hence the it barring the name of the first owner.
For those into architecture the neo-classical façade of the building can be very interesting - although this aspect has taken after its restoration well after 1989 ( it was severely damaged during WWII and was left like that by the communist regime, not demolished , surprisingly)
Nowadays the palace is not open for the public to visit - although occasionally it does open, but those occasions are rare - however you can stop a few minutes and take some pictures.

The Budapest Parliament is truly an amazing structure, showcasing breathtaking architecture that leaves a lasting impression. Although we didn’t go inside, the exterior alone is worth the visit, with its intricate details and grand facade.

Whether you're walking along the Danube or admiring it from nearby, the Parliament is a must-see landmark in Budapest. Don’t miss the opportunity to take in its beauty from every angle!

Up on Fisherman's Bastion are some amazing looking buildings, obviously St Mathias Church is the standout architectural gem but facing this church is Ministry Of Finance Building, one of the most beautiful buildings in Budapest.
Not much information available about this building but the facade is stunning, at present there's major restoration work being carried out on the building but what you can see is superb ,the facade, the wonderfully tiled roof, just an amazing looking building that's most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Budapest and thinking of visiting Fisherman's Bastion.
