Budapest is a beautiful, friendly city. Plenty of fantastic architecture, restaurants and cafes. Ease to walk to the main attractions. Must sees/to dos:- Budapest castle, parliament building, a thermal baths experience and cruise on the Danube.

This fountain lies within the Buda Castle courtyard and is a wonderful sight. Not least because it actually works as a fountain should. The intricate architecture on the figurines is lovely and it's a very worthwhile visit.

What’s not to love about a fountain you can play with. Perfect on a hot day and you can have a seat and watch the kids )big and small) cool off

Attractive large fountain in the center of Elisabeth Square (Erzsebet ter) next to the Ferris Wheel of Budapest. Dating back to 1883. On top is Danubius who personifies the Danube River. Below him are three female figures representing the three main tributaries of the Danube, the Tisza, Drava and Sava. Worth a look if you are passing through the park.

The Open Book Fountain is located in Egyetem Square in front of the Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences. The fountain looks like a large stone book; every few seconds a sheet of water blasts forth from the book’s spine, arcing from one side to the other, creating the illusion that an invisible force is turning the pages of the marble tome. The fountain was created by artist Kelecsenyi Gergely and engineer Jozsef Szita in 2012. I was impressed by the fountain's simplicity and its dynamic nature. It is a reminder of the importance of traditional books both for the joy of reading and for storing knowledge. The Open Book Fountain is accessible at all times with no entry fee; however, the liquid pages only turn during warm months.

During the rebuilding and reorganization of the square, the designers made a weak effort to make the space more livable, but I can not say that they have achieved full success. It was not difficult to make this overly dilapidated neighborhood more appealing and better, but the public's expectations were put higher. Therefore, subsequent corrections were required, e.g., mounting backrests to the uncomfortable benches.
Seeing the parking difficulties of the buses, I talked with the drivers, and I have to say they were not excited. It's a big step forward to have a regular public toilet, though I do not have personal experience. A cunning solution, however, is their pricing. One visit is 180.-HUF. Who is that desperate visitor who will ask for 20.- HUF (1 cent) from a 200.- HUF coin?
Fortunately, the clock seems to work after a lot of repairs, legitimate mockery, and complaints.

Located Vorosmarty Square, stands this very interesting fountain, as we visited at night we thought is was just an ornate lamp post, however, on further investigation we could see it was a fountain, surrounded with four lions, hence the name.

When my husband and I were waiting for a restaurant to open for breakfast we wandered around and found this fountain in Corvin Square. It's of a hunter drinking and it's rather detailed. The plaque said it was erected in 1904 and is of Lajos Kutja.

In 1978, the "Mermaids" ornamental fountain, also known as "Faun and Mermaids", was erected on the edge of the former fairground, opposite the Széchenyi Baths. In the centre of the 15-metre diameter pool, surrounded by limestone perches, sits a two-metre bronze faun figure with a whistle, surrounded by five mermaid statues. The playful bronzes were sculpted by Jenő Kerényi.

This fountain with two half-naked girls with jugs was installed on Deak Square in 1933. The author of the fountain was the famous interwar sculptor Ferenc Sidló. Looking at these beautiful women, it's hard to believe that in front of you are two of the 50 Danaids who killed their husbands in order to avoid a prophecy about their father, whose fate is to die at the hands of a son-in-law. The punishment in the kingdom of Hades for them was to fill bottomless jugs with water. Because the worst punishment is senseless work...

Originally it was located in the Pest side (Ludovika).
The cast iron part of the well was placed in the Buda Castle in the Holy Trinity Square, sunk into the southern retaining wall.
    Looks nice.
