This was Szimply the best thing that I did in Budapest (pun intended) - these markets are so cool! Szimpla Kert is a really funky venue, you've never been to markets like this, and the range of produce was really nice. As a tourist, it's nice to be able to support local producers rather than just the sellers at the big tourist traps who are all selling the same cans of paprika etc.. Highly, highly recommended!

It appears after visiting a many local markets during our travels, these are in our opinion the perfect market for us, we could add one more, (covered). This one is one of several large markets within the city, it has everything you would need for a shopping local experience, there is also a SPAR, for the usual suspects.

Not a lot going on and lots of closed/empty stalls, but the few stalls and the cafe were lovely. A really beautiful building too :)

Perfect outdoors event for the whole family in a very nice environment. Danube and the Római part is close to the site with playgrounds and lot of fun even for the small ones.

    A sprawling three - story marketplace with a neo-gothic facade three-story marketplace
Built in the late 19th century. On the ground floor there is an endless array of textures,
Fragrances ,tastes and sounds. On the ground floor there are aperitifs, breads, meat, wine, honey or strudels.,farm produce, pastries, candies, spices and spirits tempt on the palate.Eateries and souvenirs are on the second floor.Local butchers and fish vendors on the basement.
