- LeonhknyHong Kong, China22,252 contributionsThis is Lodz's most successful urban redevelopment project. The site of former textile factory, Manufaktura is now a huge shopping mall popular among locals. The blend of old and new is impressive and the mall itself is huge and lively.Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John MNew York City, NY827 contributionsNice main street in Łódź. Plenty of activity and people even on a rainy day. Something for everyone, with cafes, local shopping. Nice even to stroll without stopping anywhere.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Ashleigh LLondon, UK8 contributionsHumbling and important historical trip. The ghetto created during WW2 is a huge part of the history of Lodz and it is worth a visit to understand the town in much more depthWritten 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LeonhknyHong Kong, China22,252 contributionsThe glass alley in downtown is a major tourist attraction in Lodz. With a mosaic of glass, Pasaz Rozy is a popular place. Seeing the whole block gleaming is an interesting experience.Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - petergab10Melbourne, Australia682 contributionsA part of Lodz history and definitely worth reading more about the Radegast Station which will help you have a better understanding of the history the train station holds. As tens of thousands of Jewish people were herded off by train to the death camps at Chelmno-nad-Nerem in 1942-1944 and then to Auschwitz in August 1944. You need to enter the station building to appreciate the original floor and internal roof structure. There is a large model of the old station and surrounding area of Lodz ghetto which lights up when listening to an audio tape in Polish or English language.
From the car park you reach the station by walking through the tunnel of memory and a monument commemorating the Jewish people who were taken away through station. Cattle wagons and steam engine stand next to the platform and the large headstones highlight the destinations the loaded trains headed to Stutthof, Ravensbruck, Chelmno, Auschwitz-Birkenau. A memorial which honours the victims of the ghetto and the deportations.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a museum associated with the buildings, but it is worth visiting just to stroll among the buildings. There is a gift shop there as well as a cafe, restaurant, and grocery store.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcin WalczakEdinburgh, UK505 contributionsLast time I visited this ZOO seven years ago and have to admit that went through massive transformation. This is definitely something that city of Lodz could be proud of, and should be on a must see list for anyone visiting central Poland.
Tickets are reasonably priced and could be booked online in advance or bought at the entrance. Car park is quite cheap but some improvement could be made in regards parking spaces. Be aware of additional payments for no compulsory 7D experience in Orientarium. Prices of food at the food court are reasonable too, and choice and quality are very reasonable.
For even medium size group with young kids I would suggest at least half day if not a full day experience. Apart of animals and Orientarium, which is must see during visit, there is a playground for younger kids and a play park for older ones too. Everything seems to be in a walkable distance even for toddlers. Definitely will be back as soon as visiting this region in near future.Written 14 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Modern and vintage design and textiles were blended together to make for an interesting tour. On leaving the museum you can visit a street of old wooden Polish buildings.Written 5 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
