We lucked out as the gardens would have been closed down for the winter come next week.

The large pond / the statues / the peacocks / the aviary/ and the concrete artist wall with all the faces is something to see.

My husband and I enjoy visiting botanical gardens. Plus, we wanted to visit somewhere with our dog to tire her out. The Prague Botanical Garden checked both boxes for us. Because we visited in early October, there were not a lot of flowers in bloom, but we still enjoyed seeing the flower, plants and trees.

A very pretty formal garden, with a large selection of trees, all named. Begonias in flower and trees starting to show the autumnal colours. Easy to walk around, with great views of the castle and cathedral. Within 5 minutes walk of the castle. Quiet and peaceful, a good break from the crowds.

The Franciscan Gardens is a really good area of the beautiful Church Of Our Lady Of The Snows, there's a wonderful and evocative stone gate that brings you into the gardens area, best views are from the beer garden of the brilliant pub U Pinkasu, its a great garden area to explore if you're in the New Town ( Nove Mesto ) and easy to locate on Jungmannovo Namesti.

Not of a special beauty but they are interesting by the arrangement, terraced, on a steep slope. A quiet place to rest after visiting the castle.

Not much have changed since my childhood visits , not much has changed since my last review below.

It is a great park to visit, definitely less touristy than the nearby Petrin.

    Beautiful in every season ....

I love coming back. It used to be easy, walking down to the various terraces - levels , stopping to rest, take in the views. The gate by the castle has been closed.

The walk from the bottom up is still worth it. Just takes a bit more energy.
An entrance fee is charged at a kiosk set farther back by the steps.

My husband and I come here for the wonderful views and the memories .
Some of the best pictures of Prague we took here. The views get better and better with each terrace you pass. ...

Prague's Baroque gardens, often hidden behind high walls from the street , offer some of the best retreats from the crazy busy city, that Prague has become.
I love to come here in every season at every chance I get ...

The Seminary Garden is a fantastic garden and park area of Petrin Hill.
Nice paths through a mix of well kept and unkempt parks and gardens makes for a delightful walk ,my twin brother and I were up in the Petrin Hill area on a beautiful March morning, we had a bit of an explore around this garden area, views out to the city below and the Vltava River were stunning, if you're planning a holiday to Prague its most definitely well worth checking out .

This is the perfect place to escape the million people wandering the streets of Prague. I went through the Tesla Radio door and it was just lovely. You can enjoy a bit of silence and shade and birdsongs. My advice, buy some of the open faced sandwiches from the cafeteria and enjoy your lunch in this park. It was lovely.

Great Furstenberg Garden is a rather nice oasis of calm in the Castle District ( Hradcany ) ,it's a well kept garden area and although I don't agree with the fact you're charged to view and visit the garden there's no denying it's very beautiful and if you're in the Castle District is most definitely well worth checking out .

Nice little park to go for a scroll in and quite peaceful. Not exactly a park to walk to from the old town. but we had little scooter to get around on so this place was only a few minutes away

We came across this one by accident whilst walking back from Wenceslas Square to our hotel in Náměstí Republiky via the church of St Henry and its interesting bell tower. Today mainly surrounded by some interesting buildings it is a bit of a tram hub, and several lines run through it in one direction or another, so on initial arrival it doesn’t seem to be that worth a visit. However, the most interesting part is the mall well-preserved park in its eastern part. This contains a nice small fountain incorporating a bronze artwork representing blindfolded dancing Czech musicians at one end (unveiled on 22nd April 2002) and another artwork known as Socha Nil at the other. Both I believe are the work of sculptor and painter Anna Chromy, an Austrian artist of Czech origin.
I wouldn’t recommend making a special journey but if you are in the area, which you may well be as it is only 10 minutes from either Wenceslas Square or Náměstí Republiky and only 7 minutes from the Powder Tower in the Old Town, I would recommend making a small detour to take a look.
