One of many bridges that span the Vltava River. The Legion Bridge was built between 1899-1901. It offers some of the best views of the Vltava River including of the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle in the distance. From here you can also catch tram 22 that will take you all the way to Mala Strana (Lesser Town) and up to Prague Castle.

This is the major road and tram bridge across the Vltava into the Old and New Towns and if you come from the airport by taxi, you will invariably cross it. However, its worth a walk to as it has some impressive lamps and Art Nouveau sculptures adorning its length and the south side does afford some very good views across the water to the Prague Castle complex. A very pleasant walk is to follow the river side from here all the way round to Charles Bridge or even Legion Bridge.

This is the bridge to the north of Charles Bridge and provides a very good view of its more famous neighbour. It was renamed in 1920 after the Czech painter Josef Manes (1820-1871), the original name being Archduke Franz Ferdinand Bridge, whose assassination in 1914 triggered the First World War, so deemed perhaps politically correct to change it after a local.
It was constructed during 1911-1914 and officially opened in 1916. A nice thing to look out for as you cross it is The Walk of Fame, created in 2009 of copper stars in tribute of Czech composers, was created in 2009. The Rudolfinum, a neo-Renaissance building now a concert hall and art gallery is next to the bridge on the east bank and the Kafka Museum is just down from the bridge on the west bank.

There are several really impressive looking bridges that span the mighty Vltava River, obviously Charles Bridge is the most famous but this bridge although not as pretty or as historic still has its merits ,from this bridge that brings you into the New Town ( Nove Mesto ) and offers great views of the Vltava River and the stunning architecture both sides of the river,if you're planning a holiday to Prague its a bridge to most definitely check out.

Palackeho Most is one of the most beautiful bridges in Prague, dating from 1867 ,its behind the stunning Charles Bridge the oldest bridge in this fascinating city .
The bridge brings you from the Smichov district across to the New Town ( Nove Mesto ) and offers great views of the Vltava River and the stunning architecture along the riverbanks both sides of the river, its a great bridge to check out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

Bringing you over to Slovansky Ostrov is Slovansky Ostrov Bridge, a really beautiful little bridge that adds to the picturesque setting of this island in the River Vltava.
It's a steel bridge, well built, sturdy, very photogenic, its a bridge that adds to the joy of walking over to Slovansky Ostrov and is well worth checking out if you're in the New Town of Prague ( Nove Mesto ).

Nusle Bridge is a really great piece of civil engineering, nearly half a kilometre long,40 metres high and constructed from reinforced concrete ,its such a photogenic bridge that has a really painful history as since its construction in the 1970's over 300 people have took their lives from this bridge and this despite the authorities taking protective measures such as high barriers, its gained the macabre nickname " suicide bridge " ,it makes me sad to view thinking of this horrendous statistic.

There are several bridges that span the Vltava River, one that I love to cross is Jiriskuv Bridge.
This Bridge brings you into the New Town ( Nove Mesto ) and offers great views not just of the Vltava River but of the splendid architecture both sides of the Vltava River, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

The fourth bridge over the Vltava River in Prague is the Railway Bridge.
First constructed in 1872 and rebuilt by Czech architect Frantisek Prasil in 1901 ,this bridge has no official name and was simply designated Railway Bridge ( Zeleznicni Most ) ,its known to the locals as " Vysehrad Bridge " and links the Nusle Valley and Smichov, I love the look of this three span bridge that looks so beautiful, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

My twin brother and I were exploring around the wonderful Liben neighbourhood, we passed over this cute little bridge that I thought was an impressive piece of engineering.
Betonovy Most Pres Rokythu was constructed in 1896 ,a great stone and steel bridge that's very photogenic, its found along Zenklova and is well worth checking out if you're in the area.
