It's too hot. I revisited in July and walked up Anzac Hill from the Industrial side, which I now realise is the steeper side... from there, I walked down to the Airmen's Memorial and then walked Anzac Hill again so I could return to my car via the regular track.
The views up on Anzac Hill sweep before you of the beautiful hills and it's quite a serene place to spend time. From here you can clear your thoughts, breath and contemplate life.
Along the way I saw remnants of old hospitals that existed here during the war...and remnants of other military buildings. But if you go back through history ... the original inhabitants were the Taungurong people.
It's an interesting park ... what lets it down is directional signage, it would be good to have clearer signs once you are within the area so you know where to turn to get to things. All in all... this is a fabulous place to go for a walk with lots of information boards to tell you about the history of the area.Written 9 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet

It makes sense that they are located adjacent to the Rail carpark so they are very easy to visit for anyone coming by train. But as they are located on Anzac Avenue ... they are easy for anyone coming off the freeway to have a look as well. There is a children's playground here and also BBQ facilities ...so it's a perfect place to have a break from traveling.
The park here is the JW Elliot Reserve. The black train was built in 1913 and has been in the park for a substantial time being placed here in 1965. It's a credit to the town that it's in such impeccable condition. There are ladders in place at the train so you can walk up to the driver's area and look around... if you like you can even imagine yourself to be a train driver for a wee while.Written 7 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While the river height is down, the path remains well maintained and the walking or cycling are both easy.Written 24 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravellerMelbourne, Australia15,759 contributionsMy wife and I visited this local park during our stopover in Seymour on our drive to Nagambie for a holiday.
This is a lovely park next to the river, with a playground and BBQ facilities. Plenty of trees and birds flying around.Written 2 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sad though that the former Seymour Railway Refreshment Rooms remain grossly underutilised.
The station is clean. It is a bit of a pain that some broad gauge trains depart from Platform 3 that must be reached from the main platforms via the subway.
The main street is adjacent to the north, so the station is conveniently located. There's a good frequency on weekdays and a reasonable one on weekends to Melbourne. Shepparton and Albury are also well served by V/Line with the higher fare but better NSW TrainLink XPTs also stopping, the latter by request.Written 21 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The river level was down and we did not see any waterbirds. There were plenty of people eating their lunch here. The public toilets are quite substantial and the river walks attractive. We started at the Rotary Park and walked past the crossing point on a well made, but dirt, path.Written 24 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - C...Victoria, Australia65,000 contributionsSo I was a bit lost looking for a coffee shop and found myself here...as there is plenty of hospital parking available... I thought I would have a quick look. This is located right next to the Seymour hospital. So let me tell you about it---
Pass through the park’s Memorial Gates and you will see "Bluey", the statue of a World War One soldier, under him there is a star-shaped memorial holding 10 glass panels. These panels detail the WWI service of 50 of our district men and women through photos and other images, as well as the history of the Seymour Hospital and Seymour RSL.
It's worth stopping to have a look at this... it's another piece of military history in the area that is well known for it's military history.Written 19 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
