I did the 5 days Camping Safari in Mid October. It was a wonderful and stunning experience. Nature in the Red Centre is so unbelievable great and beautiful and I felt lucky and happy to experience it for a couple of days (and nights!) Our group of 14 people was guided by Billy, a very kind and absolute profi tour guide who seems to know every tree and stone of the region, shared his knowledge with us, drove the truck and provided good food three times a day. He was just gorgeous! Every night we slept at a different camp ground, two of them were tented, the last two nights we slept in a swag under a sky full of stars. The camp ground facilities had their week points, especially the kitchens should be much better maintained. We found leftovers from previous groups there and hygiene was disgusting. That was the only week point of the tour. Usually we woke up at 5:30 am, watched the sunrise while listening to the sinfonie of nature around us. After breakfast we went for a hike, usually between 2 and 3 hours. Lunchbreak around noon, then we packed and drove to the next campground where we arrived in the late afternoon or early evening. We saw and walked sites as Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and West Macdonnell Ranges. I can highly recommend this tour. There is no luxury, it‘s all vey basic and close to nature and that’s exactly the good thing. I think its the best way to experience this very special part of the country.
