I did the 5 days Camping Safari in Mid October. It was a wonderful and stunning experience. Nature in the Red Centre is so unbelievable great and beautiful and I felt lucky and happy to experience it for a couple of days (and nights!) Our group of 14 people was guided by Billy, a very kind and absolute profi tour guide who seems to know every tree and stone of the region, shared his knowledge with us, drove the truck and provided good food three times a day. He was just gorgeous! Every night we slept at a different camp ground, two of them were tented, the last two nights we slept in a swag under a sky full of stars. The camp ground facilities had their week points, especially the kitchens should be much better maintained. We found leftovers from previous groups there and hygiene was disgusting. That was the only week point of the tour. Usually we woke up at 5:30 am, watched the sunrise while listening to the sinfonie of nature around us. After breakfast we went for a hike, usually between 2 and 3 hours. Lunchbreak around noon, then we packed and drove to the next campground where we arrived in the late afternoon or early evening. We saw and walked sites as Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and West Macdonnell Ranges. I can highly recommend this tour. There is no luxury, it‘s all vey basic and close to nature and that’s exactly the good thing. I think its the best way to experience this very special part of the country.

I escorted my elderly parents on a trip to the Red Centre and this tour was one of the highlights of our stay. The SEIT office team were very friendly and helpful then the tour itself was fantastic. Our guide Michele knew so much about the area & the history and he shared that knowledge in a fun, engaging way. He was also kindly attentive to my dad with his walking cane, speaking italian to him occasionally while never neglecting the rest of the group. We enjoyed all the stops, including the huge salt lake, cattle yards and the various views of the impressive Mt Conner. Watching the gorgeous sunset uncrowded, in a happy little group with drinks and nibbles was very special. The bbq dinner at the station afterwards was great and we all chatted merrily around a big table. This tour was definitely worth it and I hope to return one day!

Durable and safe 4WD coach with air con. Jimmy is entertaining- adult themes and edgy vocabulary (Crocodile Dundee meets Kel (Kath & Kim) helped with building friendly spirit and banter with the 20 guests. The walk along Palm Valley (following the 4 wheel drive bump of rock and sand ) made for a great day.

Mahesh was so knowledgeable and the tour was extremely interesting.. we feel we got a great overview of Alice Springs and it’s history in the afternoon. A must do if you want a half day experience plus a lovely snack set up in the bush. Highly recommend.

We chose a custom tour because my wife has some mobility issues, and Kimberley provided the perfect experience, combining beautiful scenery with lots of local knowledge (including indigenous culture) and everything at the pace we needed . She is also a great host and understood what we were interested in. Highly recommended.
We also did the Hermannsberg tour with Kimberley which was really interesting and enlightening (see separate review).

We chose a custom tour because my wife has some mobility issues, and Kimberley provided the perfect experience. This tour features indigenous artists as well as learning about the history and culture of the area. Kimberley provided lots of local knowledge, with everything at the pace we needed. We also did the West MacDonnell tour with Kimberley which features beautiful scenery as well as Kimberley's local understanding (see separate review).

Like many of the previous reviewers, I can highly recommend this tour....even though the drive up the Finke River was the bumpiest journey I've made in a 4WD vehicle. Our driver Martin did an excellent job. The combination of the visit to the historic Hermannsberg Mission site and then the chance to explore the landscape of this extraordinary part of the world was a wonderful balance.

Could not name a favorite part of this tour. Picked up on time from accommodation by friendly driver Mathias and told what was about to happen. Great clean comfy car and after about 20km on the bitumen the fun began. First stop an aboriginal sacred site with rock carvings. Mathias set up breakfast with hot freshly brewed coffee. Then went to an old Ghan railway station and from there on to visit an art gallery in an aboriginal community. Fantastic display, watching local artists at work. Travelled the adventurous dirt road to the chamber of pillars with a walk around and climbing the main pillar. An easy walk and climb to area where early explorers left their initials carved into the stone. Great lunch set up again by Mathias with table cloth and freshly made Italian style bread rolls with plenty of fillings of ham, salami, cheese and other goodies. We then moved further on the dirt road, crossed the new Ghan railway line and arrived at rainbow valley where we had a feast of cold cuts, fruit and champagne to watch sunset after an informative walk around the area with our guide. Trip home was good and had to fight to keep the eyes open. What a great experience. Thanks Mathias and Filippo for setting up this wonderful tour.

An outstanding day on a private tour in the 4WD and hiking into the Finke Gorge - absolute highlight of our trip! Our guide Kimberley was fantastic- knowledgeable, helpful , considerate and kept us safe. I over-heated and she was quick to notice; had a wet towel for my neck ; gave me a hydrolyte drink and had me resting in the shade immediately. She knows the countryside, flora/fauna and was respectful and knowledgeable of local lore. The scenery is mesmerising up close and having a private guide was the best treat - very highly recommended!

Despite getting our dates wrong, Filippo organised a trip for us with less than a days notice. Our driver and guide was Dale who was very friendly, a lot of fun , enthusiatic and easy going. She drove expertly over the rocky terrain and took us on the longer walk which was truly beautiful. As Melbournites we especially appreciated the stove top coffee and home made cakes. One minor criticism would be that we would have expected a better lunch for the money. Highly recommend.

Four of us booked a private half-day tour with Kimberley. Two of us are great-grandchildren of one of the early missionaries, intent on learning more of life on the mission in the 1880s-1890s. Kimberley led us on a delightful and informative tour that included morning tea and a chat with Mildred (a local indigenous woman with extensive family connections to the mission), a guided tour of the historic precinct, a visit to Bethlehem church with one of its current pastors, and on our return to Alice Springs, an information session with two volunteer historians at the Strehlow Research Centre and Finke River Mission compound. We all thoroughly enjoyed every part of the tour, and highly recommend Kimberley's organisational skills and knowledge of the culture and environment of the Arrernte people.
