Did a short walk through as we came to spend a day in the city. It was
reminiscent of my time spent here years ago when I spent many hours in this place. It is a great library and had a wonderful collection but it is also a great space for study or a haven from the busy streets outside if you wish to use the study/quiet spaces, free Wi-Fi, computers or just visit the shop or sit in the cafe. Any NSW residents can sign up for a Library card. Staff here are friendly and very helpful with any questions.

We paid a brief visit to the Sydney Visitor Centre, in the heart of The Rocks area. We were not particularly looking for any information, but rather went in just to have a look. There is lots of information around and the staff seemed quite friendly as we observed from a distance. Next time we need help about Sydney sightseeing we will know where to turn to.

This is such a nicely designed space! I went there to see what it was like, and I was honestly very impressed. The cafe is a good touch, and the staff a so friendly and welcoming. The librarian on duty was happy to reissue my library card since I had lost my last one. And the downstairs area is so well payed out with books lining the walls and dividing the study spaces. A great place to study or relax.

Saw the SMH Year in review which was wonderful and absolutely packed. A great event and few premises could handle such a night with the feeling of being close up and yet ave so many people. The staff did a seamless job of organising it all. Hated the casino on the way here but this was such a contrast to the outside activities.

Fantastic Frida Kahlo; the Life of an Icon exhibition!

My first visit to an exhibition at The Cutaway and what an awesome venue, perfect for the Frida Kahlo exhibition. Walking from Barangaroo along the water's edge on a sunny day was an experience in itself. Staff were very helpful and the cute cafe serving some Mexican food & tequila was a winner! A very well curated extensive exhibition which included creating Frida's famous flower crown which people of all ages engaged in. There was also a digital photo shoot. Frida's life is examined in the different rooms in a creative way.
Well done to the organisers, a really worthwhile day spent & I look forward to more events at The Cutaway.

Located in Haymarket, walking distance from Central Station & UTS. It gets crowded at certain times. Staff is very friendly. Academic books vary covering different disciplines. Despite its location on a busy street, the reading area is soundproof.

Now part of the Woollahra Council, the old Paddington Town Hall is a library. It was built between 1890 and 1891 and is a good example of Victoria architecture. The clock tower arrived in 1905, It has a distinctive presence on Oxford Street and worth a look even if you are not considering reading a book .

Good buffet selection and helpful staff. However, much of the furnishings are very tired and a bit dilapidated with some chairs positively uncomfortable..
