Lots to see in several exhibition spaces. The Shakespeare Room ceiling is worth gawking at, and so are the library doors. Ned Kelly’s armor was on display, and there was a special exhibition of awesome Hebrew manuscripts. The Magellan floor map is a beautiful work of art. And it’s a good place to people-watch.

We paid a brief visit to the Sydney Visitor Centre, in the heart of The Rocks area. We were not particularly looking for any information, but rather went in just to have a look. There is lots of information around and the staff seemed quite friendly as we observed from a distance. Next time we need help about Sydney sightseeing we will know where to turn to.

Yes it’s my local so I might be a little biased, but it’s still an inviting and comfortable environment - regardless of you are planning of using the library or not.

Lots of seating outside if the sun is shining - otherwise head inside and relax in a pretty quiet space.

Directly opposition Green Square station so you have lots of public transport options. Worth a try !!

The best paid lounge at Sydney airport. Good good, lots of comfortable seating and friendly staff. Much better than the Qantas Business lounge!

Saw the SMH Year in review which was wonderful and absolutely packed. A great event and few premises could handle such a night with the feeling of being close up and yet ave so many people. The staff did a seamless job of organising it all. Hated the casino on the way here but this was such a contrast to the outside activities.

We visited this underground, hall, during Vivid, we must say it was quite spectacular, presenting the theme of fire, there were massive BBQ,s cooking meats, plenty of seating to enjoy.

Located in Haymarket, walking distance from Central Station & UTS. It gets crowded at certain times. Staff is very friendly. Academic books vary covering different disciplines. Despite its location on a busy street, the reading area is soundproof.

Now part of the Woollahra Council, the old Paddington Town Hall is a library. It was built between 1890 and 1891 and is a good example of Victoria architecture. The clock tower arrived in 1905, It has a distinctive presence on Oxford Street and worth a look even if you are not considering reading a book .

You enter this huge white-marble-and-timber palace where you get a friendly, personal welcome and are shown a table. Because here you get full table service, a 5-star restaurant experience. Chef Neil Perry's menu is not large, but refined, complimented by an excellent choice of cocktails and wines. The service is professional and friendly. You really want your flight to be delayed . . .
