Went to my first opera. It was amazing. The Iconic opera house is the perfect venue to see a show or opera. Some of us went to see Fangirls and the rest to an opera. Perfect night.

Walking the suggested route we saw lots of interesting murals (including several not listed on the tour) as well as street art of varying quality (some of it quite good). We almost quit the walking tour after the first 2 murals but were glad we did not. It turns out that the first 2 may be the least interesting of the bunch. In addition one of the murals seems to have been replaced with another (or we failed to locate it). All things considered it was a very pleasant 90 minutes. Plus there are many cafes to grab a coffee and a snack if so desired.

The Drummoyne Oval is a pretty ground which is the home of Sydney Cricket Club, who we watched play in the semi-finals of Sydney’s one-day knockout competition. It also hosts matches for the NSW Women team, the NSW mens team occasionally play here, and the touring England Lions recently hammered a NSW select XI here.

There is a small concrete stand at one end ( the Greg Davis Stand, named after the captain of Australia’s Rugby Union side in the 1960’s who played for the Drummoyne Rugby club, who also play here in the Australian winter ), a small player’s pavilion on one side, a quirky old fashioned small stand with around 250 seats, and then there are grass banks around the rest of the oval.

There are 6 floodlight pylons, TV gantries at both ends, as well as a large scoreboard in the far corner by a very large tree.

When we visited there was a small food & drinks outlet open in the side of the Greg Davis stand, with cans of beer or glasses of wine for 5 AUD, and soft drinks for 3 AUD. There were also what looked to be pies and sausage rolls available.

Entrance to the oval was free for this match, with a small number of people sitting on the grass bank, with everyone else in the Greg Davis stand.

A fun place to spend a few hours. Plenty to see and loads of eats. Many people with dogs, some of them snappy and yappy.

In 1788, the Union Jack was hoisted at Sydney Cove. The raising of the British flag on the shores of Sydney Harbour. marked the beginning of the Australian nation. It marked the birth of the Great Southrn Land. Sydney Harbour has contined to be scenic centre of the Premier State, New South Wales. The Harbour is beautiful, from Rushcutters Bay to historic Pinchgut Island. If you want a bargain deal to see Sydney Harbour, take the ferry to Manly. You will not only see Sydney Harbour, you tan take a stroll on the beach.

Sitting amongst the tanks, with a good sound track in the background and the food van dolling out a great selection, we spent a delightful afternoon sharing 2 paddles of top quality craft beer. Ever reliable, Sauce Brewing was a great spot to spend Anzac afternoon. Great selection across the taps, and the 2 up game in courtyard was fun for all.

We were keen to see this place and learn of stories gone by. While a lot has happened here, i felt perhaps more could have been showcased in the way of educatory boards?

I have been shopping here for years and years and years,
Whereas the shops have changed, the bargains haven't.
I very rarely pay full price for anything nowadays as the prices here are somewhat amazing.
I once got a pair of running shoes, in perfect, new condition, reduced from $280 right down to $35 as they were the last pair and when I went to other shops outside this outlet they were still the original price.
Shop here if you are on a budget or just don't want to pay full price.

Authentic craft Brewery, interesting taps and an easy walk from Sydneham railway station. Bar service at the front of the brewing shed, surrounded by palates of malt and oats. Unpretentious, engaging and good sized pours for those wanting to taste a few. For beer lovers definitely worth a stop.

We decided to go to Vaucluse House for the day. Caught a ferry from Rydalmere to Circular Quay had a coffee at Rossini before catching the ferry to Watsons Bay then a bus to Vaucluse House. The house has a lot of bed rooms all upstairs.
There is a tea room but we didn’t eat there.
There is a vegetable garden and stables.
Also has a stream flowing through the grounds.
We caught the bus back to Watsons Bay and had take away seafood basket from Doyles.

This park slopes down to the harbour with views across the water to Cockatoo Island. There are plenty of seats, a band rotunda, childrens playground and toilets. Another attraction is the Dawn Frazer Baths. Parking is easy round the park with plenty of unrestricted space.

Boys and girls interested in the military will be skipping and climbing about … if you see the big White House above the Watson’s Bay hotel that was the former Army officers mess… our bar and a few rooms were upstairs and our dining area is the large area at the ground floor. The entire area was used as a personnel and discharge unit (2MDPD) after the Vietnam war. It ceased being used as a mess about 1984. Great memories, a great location for natural fauna and fabulous views over Sydney harbour, the Gap cliffs and The Tasman Sea. And if there’s a yacht race or large ship entering or going there’s no better vantage point

I LOVE MANLY. I am biased, but truly it is the best. I almost don't want to review, because I don't want everyone coming here, but I also don't want to send any shade to Manly, as it is truly such a special spot.
