- GSMHeiloo, The Netherlands570 contributionsexcellent walks in nature. The signage is great and easy to follow. Peace and quietness was very enjoyable. - MartinRookNieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands490 contributionsThis little museum, located in what seems to be an old school building, is a little gem in the city of Spa. If you're interested in the history of every day life, this is a must see. The museum shows the history of washing clothes from the ancient times to recent years. It is open every Sunday from 14:00 till 18:00. The lady of the museum speaks French of course, but she does her utmost best to explain everything in a few English and Dutch words, using her hands and feet, if necessary. Nice surprise: almost all the old machines still operate!!

These take you through the historic villages such as Stavelot and Francorchamps and of course right above the amazing Spa Grand Prix Circuit. Well worth taking your bike for an explore along these old routes. Spa town is great, do visit the 'thermes' at the top of the hill in Spa, a great way to relax.Written 25 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wilwa_TiktaIndonesia2,735 contributionsa great place to visit to know more about Spa bottle water. the building that dates back to 1880 is also used as tourist office. the latest appearance of building is the result of renovation in 2012. with just 1 EUR fee, it is worth of visit. this spring is one of the most plentiful and carbonated source in the town of Spa, full of mineral salts and rich in iron, that has flow-rate of 21,000 liters per day. when I tried the water, yes I really felt the strong element of salty and iron.
it is said that there are 96 famous people with chronological disorder who came to take water for so called Spa Therapy (Crenotherapy). Aside from Peter the Great, to mention few: Marie-Henriette, Emperor Joseph II of Austria, Wellington, John Cockerill, Victor Hugo, Offenbach, and Montaigne.
the tourist officer was also very kind to explained this spring, including other interesting locations to visit around Spa.Written 3 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SkiingtravlaaaaPerth, Australia10 contributionsWe walked around the lake it was nice and peaceful and then had a drink at Le Jardin des Elfes. They didn’t speak any English but we were still able to order our drinks👍. It was early October on a Thursday when we were there so couldn’t hire boats.Written 10 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarcBudapest, Hungary58 contributionsPretty looking building, built in a time where the city of Spa still had some glamour, compared to the heavily decreased atmosphere it has in this day.
Don’t get me wrong, it is still somewhat worth visiting this area when you’re closeby, but the grandeur had faded away. Just visit this city for an hour or two and you’ve seen it all.
The casino is one of the nicest buildings and the garden looks well maintained. For the rest bit old-fashioned or “traditional” as the locals would maybe call it.Written 3 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SurvivoryLuxembourg City, Luxembourg1,027 contributionsLittle square in the city center with a small fountain in the middle. Not really something special but we enjoyed the view while having a glass at the bar outside of the casino. Renovation going on on the other side of he square so it looks like they are shaping up the area.Written 20 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
