We visited the fall in the month of December. Many of the falls in India are monsoon falls. So we were wondering if we are actually going to see any water. But we were pleasantly surprised with the flow. There were steps to go up and even a wheelchair path. The path down seemed a little tricky to navigate for older people so we just saw it from the top. Worth visiting for sure if in the area

Natural beauty, amazing creativity of God. Flowing water, better choice upto first week of June. When raining started be careful while bathing with kids.

As the title suggests, these falls are right next to the road. Although there is some construction work in progress so thats spoiling the view but otherwise not a bad idea to just go a little further from the Athirappily falls to reach this place. There is hardly anyone most of the times, so you can get to have some peace and solace here.

Ezhattumugham (The spot where Chalakkudy river divides into seven streams due to the numerous boulder clusters) is located downstream of the Athirappilly waterfalls. The boulders will be visible only during the summer so, even if the quantity of the water is less it is worth a visit during this season as well. The main attraction here is the huge hanging suspension bridge connecting the two banks of the Chalakkudy river where Thumboormuzhi park and dam is on one side and Ezhattumugham ecovillage on the other. There is a Butterfly garden as well. The water from the dam is diverted through Valathukara and Edathukara, two canals, for irrigation purposes. Kids can enjoy the slides at the park.

This is a place of scenic beauty!

Be careful with the monkeys 🐒, sometimes they can become aggressive!

So, it's been a month or three since my tour back in February, with eight mates from Western Australia, but the memories are strong - the exceptional organisation, great bikes, superb company (Aashish, Suresh, Raj and Atul), excellent accommodation, lots of humour, exquisite food. Being relatively inexperienced, on my first ride through India, I found Atul's advice at the "induction" to be invaluable - think like an Indian and ride like they would. The balance between riding days and rest/cultural days was about right ... but that's always going to be an individual thing. Definitely recommend it!
