- Surya KatakamHyderabad, India2,232 contributionsPanakala Narasimha temple is located in Mangalagiri of Guntur District, which is in the boarder area between Guntur and Krishna Districts. Mangala means Auspicious and Giri means Hill. So this area is called as Mangalagiri which means Auspiciushill. Laxmi Devi done tapas on this hill and hence it is called as Auspicious Hill.
There are three Narasimha Swamy temples in Mangalagiri. One is Panakala Narasimha Swamy temple on the hill. Another one is Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple at the foot of the temple. Third one is Gandala Narasimha Swamy temple at the top of the hill.
Here lord is an incarnation of lord Vishnu and here idol is said to be Swayambhu. The idol is covered metal face and only the mouth is visible and which is widely opened. The God takes jaggery water (Called Panakam in Telugu) as offering. The jaggery water is poured in to the mouth, only half of the water is consumed and remaining is thrown out. What ever the quantity you offer only half will be taken and remain half will be thrown out, which is as on today miracle and no one knows how it happens. people believes that it is miracle of the god.
Second Miracle is that, here devotees offers jaggery water to god and even though no insects found here. This is also believed as Gods Miracle
It is said that during Krutayua Honey was offered, Ghee in Dwaparayuga, Milk in Tretayuga and Panakam in Kaliyuga.

Present place of Matham is the place where Sri Potuluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy who Born in 1610 has entered into a Jeeva Samadhi (alive) in front of his disciple's in the year 1693.
Brahmamgari Matham was built in 1693 after his Jeeva samadhi.

7. Kakaiah Matham: This place is on the way towards Poleramma temple from Matham. Kakaiah is the person who listed Brahmamgari words when he was telling to his followers. When Brahmam garu was talking about the God who is within our body, he listen the same with half knowldge and he want to see the god so who gone to home and cut his wife into pieces to check the god but he didn't found God and his wife died with this incident. He become angry on Brahmam garu and come back to him and conveyed the message that I cut my wife bod to see the God and I didn't find God. So Brahmam garu realized about his innocence and he gave life to his Wife. After this incedent Kakkaiah also become follower to Brahamam Garu

- Bala Tripura SBengaluru, India3,772 contributionsThis temple is just 30km away from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.The temple is on the main road and all buses that goes to bapatla from Guntur stop at this place.This is one of five bhavanarayana temples(Ponnur,bapatla,Sarpavaram,pattiseema,bhava devarapalli) .Here Lord vishnu worshipped as bhavanarayana and there is a separate temple for goddess lakshmi and hanuman.This temple had very nice story on why god is called sakshi bhavanarayana.Sakshi in telugu means witness.Once there used to brahmin who lives in this place with his wife and her brother.These three once went to varanasi and there after having the darshan of God he promised his brother in law that he will get him married if he is blessed with a girl in the presence of Lord vishnu.After that they came back to their village and blessed with baby girl.When she attained the marriage age he is searching for the groom and forgot his promise he did to his brother in law.His brother in law came to him and remained him about the promised he did to him but the brahmin did not agree to his words and insulted him saying that noone will believe your words that i promise his as there is no witness for this.Then brother in law went to varanasi and requested Lord vishnu to give witness.Lord vishnu agreed and came to his village and gave the witness that brahmin gave the word to his brother in law,
