What travellers are saying
- david P3 contributionsI wasvisiting my father in Hoytown and decided to walk down to Bellsill and see my old haunts. My first stop was the Alhambra Fish and Chip shop in Mossend, the best fish in the area.
I then went down to the Academy and found nothing has changed it is a lovely school
but as it was lunch time all the students seem to stand around the cafe next to what used to be the picture house. They seem to ignore the garbage cans so I left returning to Mossend.Written 14 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The main monument features a sandstone plinth engraved with the names of the fallen. The plinth is surmounted by a Scottish soldier, dressed in battle gear, but wearing a Tam O’Shanter. On his back is a rucksack and he stands ready to march. The monument also includes a special dedication to recipient of a Victoria Cross, James Richardson, a piper with the 16th (Canadian Scottish) Battalion who volunteered to play his comrades over the top as well as rescuing several wounded comrades. The Richardson dedication is just behind the main monument.Written 18 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amy C1 contributionI would say that the play area is big enough to play but small enough not to lose kids but I find it difficult to get service as the staff are mostly standing outside or smoking outside. Overall my experience was amazing but just the service from the staff could be more satisfying.Written 19 July 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
