Thanks to the rains, the Water flow in the falls is good and we enjoyed a lot. We spent almost a hour in the main falls alone and it's the most refreshing one.

Beware of monkeys. Pack your snacks inside your bags. As nature lovers, avoid throwing plastic covers in the forest.

Lag: Restroom facility is available, but not maintained properly.

    What is it
    - Rocky Hill station with a maximum altitude of around 4300 feet
    - Close to major cities like Bangalore (~150km) and Chennai (260km)
    - Most of the land on the hill is owned and developed by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department and the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department - which means most of the services and infrastructure is neglected

What is good (if you visit on a weekday)
    - Quiet, calm, and peaceful
    - Budget accommodation (Haritha Resort)
    - Lot of space to walk, including trails
    - Beautiful fauna, especially purple Jacaranda trees

    What is not good
    - Becomes crowded on the weekends
    - Dirty
    - Undeveloped/ill-maintained infrastructure
    - Limited food options
    - Dangerous 'view points' with no safety railings
    - Monkeys
    - Irritating graffiti (x loves y type) on the roof of all viewing gazebos

While coming down from Horsely hills we had a look at this famous school ... it is a huge complex with lot of greenery located under the hills near villages... the guards at the gate allow you to go to reception

Located exactly 9 km away from Renigunta railway station amidst the middle of village. Reaching is possible only by way of auto or private vehicle. The climate is quite hot. A small temple of lord shiva well maintained by ASI. The history is in telugu and english and sadly the english descriprion is spoiled. Some reader has suggested to go papanaidupet by share auto and from there can proceed to the temple. You should have a lot of time at your disposal for this .Otherwise quickest move is to hire an auto and finish. It took totally around an hour and half for us and for there we proceeded to Srikalahasthi temple by bus. We paid 400 rupees for the up and down trip which I felt a little bit high. We tried negotiating but almost all the autos were charging the same rate only. Can't help when you are out the auto fares literally kills you and of late bus fares also joined the bandwagon. A days vist cost us ( no hotel booking or eating )2000 just like that.

as part of kolar tour covering Avani Betta and Markendaya hills, we also went to Kaigal falls. Google location disappears on the NH itself, and there are no markings for the entrance, but its a wide mud road with a small shop at the corner at the bend of the road, which is motorable for a km, and a rickety bamboo gate is put up near the kaigal education building for cars to stop, even bikes cannot go much further as its boulders walkway.
problem is that its probably a local den for bachelors or drunkards. we witnessed 2 SUV's full of guys only, all drunk. carrying boxes of beer bottles and half clothed. so there's no point for families to go there.
another group of bikers told there is hardly any water and rocks are slippery for kids, so we returned after few 100m of walking, but it had rained that day and there were many mosquitoes.
all in all not worth, unless you are a gang of bikers (no offense) or group of bachelor males. had visited on the independence day long weekend.added a photo for the walking start and last point of motorable road.

The temple is dedicated to lord shiva worshipped as valeeswarar in lingam form and the goddess is maragathambikai.this is one of the 20 temples along the river arani which originates at satasivakonda and drains into bay of bengal. The temple represents the ISANAM face which is related to the SKY. The bhairavar is worshipped as shanthaana prapthi bhairavar .the temple timings were different from usual hours and so we have to plan the trip accordingly.
