Great view if you don't mind a very short 5 minute steep climb up the hill, you can drive up most of the way. The Sherkin island lighthouse is visible across from the beacon.

The boat trip out is simple and frequent. The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed our walk (we chose the red route about 5km). I wish they had made it clear that all of the walks reach a point where you have to turn around and come back the same way, but we still thoroughly enjoyed exploring. The Jolly Roger was a nice way to finish off with a cold drink.

A visit to the gardens would not be complete without stopping off at the quirky little cafe with a gorgeous outdoor eating area. The coffee is good and the pancakes delicious. On a second visit a few days later I had the most yummy chocolate cake. A must if you’re in the Baltimore area!

Good pool - it's a little expensive, but decent facilities and a nice swim. Never too crowded, and helpful staff any time I've gone there.

Tráigh na Móna or Trag as it is normally shorten to, is a great spot for a dip and there is normally a lifeguard on duty during the summer months.

We love to visit this beautiful beach when we are in West Cork. There is parking for about 5 or 6 cars and it is normally fairly quiet.

Weekend nights in Baltimore resemble the worst of Temple Bar in Dublin and then its closed for most of the remainder of week at least it was in June, such a disappointment as we used love this place

Went to both Cape Clear and Fastnett Rock Tour, it was absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed the laid back day and hearing the history of Fastnett was fantastic, definitely both worth a visit

What a lovely evening experience with Michael showing us hidden gems around the harbour and the coast. Lucky to see seals and dolphins and zip around in a huge rib / exhilarating and fab

Last minute trip at a busy time. Very reassured re competence and safety of the skipper Nic Slocum and the boat Voyager. Out into open sea past Sherman Island to find pod of dolphins, some seals and various seabirds. Put into Cape Clear Island harbour — a Gaeltacht area — for brief stop then around the island. A great adventure for our 13 year old grandson to steer boat into harbour. A highly recommended trip!

I recently attended a one day cookery course with a large group of friends. Our hostess was rude and unhelpful. The course consisted of participants following recipe sheets without any direction other than how to fillet a fish (which Georgina could not identify) and bone a chicken drumstick. Her husband who had purchased the fish guessed that it might have been whiting!

Questions were met with vague and unhelpful answers. Frankly, it appeared to the whole group that we were a source of major irritation in spite of us spending a total of €950 for the dubious pleasure.

Despite this and perhaps because of the Fawlty Towers situation and the school teacher-ish rudeness of the hostess we all had a great laugh.

All this notwithstanding, the location is stunning.
