I was working for a day in the halls attached to the church. When that was over, I spotted a man with his dog emerging from the manse, and asked if I could see inside the church. I guess he was the minister, Rev Richard C Kerr. He generously gave me a tour.

Before we entered the minister said that the place was quite plain inside, but some details are very elaborate and beautiful. I loved the symmetrical floral designs in stained glass at the top of some of the lancet-shaped windows. Very Victorian. More fully realised flower designs border the one window that depicts Biblical scenes. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the pipes of a church organ set against window apertures. High above is an impressive wooden ceiling with a grid of great wooden beams. Still set into each square are central squares with nine quatrefoil holes for ventilation, from the mid-nineteenth century days when lamps lit the place that would have given off fumes. The ornate metalwork of the balcony has a gentle curve taking it into the third dimension.

The place makes for a great landmark, tall and accompanied by even taller mature trees by the road. A very impressive place, my thanks to Rev Kerr for his time and trouble.

A strnge approach to this hidden graveyard which surounds the Mausoleum down a tree lined entrance with old stone wall - wouldn't want to go at night!
The mausoleum itself in many way is very ordinary albeit very historic but the imagination lights up when you look at some of the headstones and read what you can of those buried there. For extra fun google some of the names.
    A peaceful hour.

Lots of work going on. Noisy and fumes in restaurant. Food was exceptional and fast service. Lovely first stay with ny boy. Nice midweek treat.

My husband gifted me a spa day at The Rabbit as a present. I was able to take my daughter and daughter-in-law with me. We had a wonderful day. The staff were wonderful- so attentive, friendly and professional. We had a treatment as part of our package. These were fabulous. I had booked a second treatment also for an extra charge. There is a great relaxation room for after treatments. You are accompanied there by your therapist who provided you with chilled water and a scoop of frozen sorbet. You eat this on a water bed while relaxing after your treatment. The one course lunch included in our package was lovely.
There is a great selection of hot pools/tubs and other places to relax. We stayed for seven hours! It is very easy to order drinks. There are QR codes dotted around the relaxation areas for you to order and the staff have them with you in no time at all.
This was a fabulous day. My husband chose incredibly well when selecting this gift. The day from start to finish was an experience I will definitely repeat.
Tip:Remember the spa is part of a hotel do you will pay hotel prices for dinks.

Not sure children would be interested in this trip. I personally think it's adults trip. Although I was informed there are school trips booked. It's nice to see something as useful as a spade being made. Worth a visit.
