- yalibrarianSan Antonio, TX359 contributionsI stopped here on my way to Mystic after stopping at Wadsworth State Park. Not crowded at all on a Tuesday in late October. Parking near the entrance/gift shop. Plenty of docents eager to shared information about the art scene in Saybrook, the boarding house, and the grounds. Lots of tonalist and impressionist paintings to view. Lovely views of the Lieutenant River with the fall colors. Some great photo opportunities. A few short trails (maybe .2 miles round-trip). The cafe was closed but the Hungry Goose Cafe was right at the end of the river trail and had a great lunch special. I probably spent 1.5 hours, not including lunch, but could probably see everything in a hour. Recommend.Written 9 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CampnsquatchNew Hampshire Lakes Region, NH49 contributionsSampled a few wines before purchase. Relaxed and friendly service.
Lovely grounds. Some food vendors offering lunch and beverages. I suggest the Seaport white and the Rose.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have it an additional star just because of the setting and cleanliness. The Vineyard Vines staff were awesome and so welcoming. Bring an appetite so you can hit one of the awesome restaurants in the casino!Written 23 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jack LEast Syracuse, NY815 contributionsMy main visit was to view the Steam Engine Museum, which has been closed since March 2020. I have visited a number of antique shops, however this facility is two levels, the basement being the lower level. I spent about 45 minutes, yet didn't see the complete museum.
My photography was only three exhibits. First was about grinder-single & double wheels, then an 1880's Eclipes Steam powered riverboat-possibly from the nearby Connecticut River about 10-15 miles away. The third exhibit was the Tool Shed Room. The Room has all kinds of tools-hand & mechanical- hand saw appeared to be the most. The Shed was the most interesting exhibit.
Both floors are filled with racks, probably six foot high, filled with all kinds of items. During my visit at most ten other visitors. Beside the Antique & Steam Museums are five other businesses to check-out. Plenty of parking. Across R-85 is David's Seafood Place.
Any person with an interest in antique hunting, this museum should not disappoint.Written 16 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was near where I was staying and amenities were nearby. The workshop was much of a disappointment, but seeing great art in their gallery and touring the area helped me to downplay my loss & disappointment. I look forward to another visit there one day.Written 13 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adventure DivaManchester, CT2,167 contributionsLocated in the old Velvet Mill, this farmers market was active with plentiful and varied produce with other items sprinkled in between. It was well laid out and vendors change on a regular basis.Written 10 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Purple_Snow_LadyWoodstock, CT76 contributionsThis is a fun place to visit and poke around. You never know what you may find.....antiques, note cards, homemade soaps, baskets, dolls, kitchen items, books, and more. Separate "booths" are rented out by different individuals, so, there is a big selection and the stock is forever changing. You may be interested in renting out an area of your own if you would like to sell antiques or homemade items. Two floors. Prices vary.Written 13 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ken jManalapan, NJ929 contributionsGood store to go through after the big store next door. It is separate from the giant Antique Marketplace. - J B39 contributionsThey sell interesting used items. I go here pretty often and I have bought a few things. Just some examples: jewelry, scarves, dishwater, art, cassettes, old tools, windows, tile....There are some rock samples for collectors....you never really know what you will find. Excellent place to fine items for art projects. They have a lot of inventory outside the building that you can even peruse when they are closed.Written 28 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Teri N115 contributionsWe went on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only people in the gallery. It felt like we were visiting a friend's place. The gallery had a beautiful collection of local art. The art gallery hostess was so helpful and delightful and charming. She encouraged us to walk around and see the local murals and provided a free map. It was a magical place to visit.Written 21 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Steven THarrisville, RI386 contributionsFascinating collection of shops with a focus on materials sourced from nature- gemstones, minerals, fossils, etc. LOTS of jewelry but enough other things to be interesting to anyone not looking for jewelry.
