The museum is clearly a labor of love for the people of Atina. I commend there effort and enthusiasm to present the history of Atina and the Comino Valley. The volunteers were enthusiastic and accommodating.

I had no idea my father's birthplace had so many little museums. This teeny one is a must see for art fans. My cousin arranged our visit by calling the owner. That alone was a wondrous occurrence for us. It is dedicated to the poor women of the area who went to France to model for Renoir, Monet, etc. What was especially amazing is that I'd recently seen some of these famous artist works in the Boston MFA and noted that their favorite subjects were Italian women The owner discovered a treasure trove of the women's own paintings and memorabiia when his family bought the house. Kudos to him for creating a museum and I d hope it becomes more well known. It's only a few rooms and the owner narrated all in Italian. No admission fee but contributions were welcome.

We called the Cantina on short notice to have a tasting for our family. They were able to accommodate us the following evening without a problem. The cantina gave us a lovely explanation of the history of the original building "La Ferriera" which was then turned into a working Cantina growing mainly cabernet. The vineyard has a rich history stemming from it's original use as a iron producing factory prior to 1850 to today's use as a vineyard producing delicious and affordable wine. The wine tour consisted of seeing the building, the cantina, tasting five wines and eating a delicious plate of mixed salumi and cheese. Would highly recommend!

It’s not a huge piazza in the style of Rome, but it is the center of this tiny town. When viewed in that light, it is absolutely perfect in every way. There is a fountain, there is a bus stop, there is a cafe, but most importantly this is where the daily meetings of the local “City Council” take place.
