It was a pleasure to spend one week at La Lecciola. Giulia and Simon are amazing hosts. The atmosphere is very friendly and family oriented in a marvelous typical Elba landscape.
You can benefit from bio-products coming directly from their farm, including the white vermentino wine, for a very reasonable and economic price.
The house is situated at walking distance from Rio Marina (the harbour) and Rio nell Elba and very closed to other turistic places in Elba and the uncanny beaches.
Giulia and Simone will give you piece of advice regarding any activity you would like to do: for us they helped us to organise a trekking to the mountain, visit to La Pianosa, a barely inhabitated island closeby, as well as scubba diving.
Grazie Giulia and Simon for the stunning time at your place!

Great sand beach with clear water. You can walk very far in the water!! Lots of tourists and families, so not the most peaceful place.

The path to the Church is quite tough, but still you enjoy it due to spectacular views opening to you on the road. When you finally reach the location, you get amazed how breezy the air is: a forest surrounding the Church and tiny springs refresh you and you just don’t want to leave. With nobody around, you feel secluded. So cozy, so home-like – and you begin to understand why Napoleon was in love with this place:

''…Napoleon would spend days on end at the Madonna del Monte hermitage, high up on the hills, reminiscing about his native Corsica. From up there, Bastia seems so near that you feel you can almost touch it…''

You have to see it with your eyes, it is an amazing place! The church is on the top of the hill, you have to walk at the end.

This is one of the best attraction that I have found on the island. It s a tour in an old mine using in a mini train. There is also a museum and a workshop where they show you how they process the materials ( iron , zinc etc). It’s the ideal attraction for engineers :) and childrens

Good hike despite the warm weather. The castle looks charming especially in late afternoon. Beautiful views from the top

The beach is small and crowded even in early summer. Public beach is tiny, you most join a club to be somewhat comfortable. Interesting restaurants and lovely little hotels. If you visit make sure your hotel has a view...
