What travellers are saying
- Carmen GPembina, ND32 contributionsThis was a highlight of my trip. Every knock and cranny had something to see. As soon as you walk in you feel a sense of calm, it’s so very peaceful! Worth visiting if you are in Lovina!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RaymondaleKuala Lumpur, Malaysia1,207 contributionsPura Beji located at Sangsit Village, Buleleng,it is a Subak temple.Subak is a term for the Balinese paddy irrigation system.it is dedicated to the spirit that looks after the irrigation and rice fields.i visited this temple three weeks ago when i had my North Bali trip in September this year. it was the second time i visited this temple, the first time was ten years ago.i love its craving, especially a craving of two Dutchmen playing instruments, one playing guitar, another playing rebab.it is said that they were Dutch colonial officer, and helped to renovate this temple.if you love craving of Balinese temple, then it is worth a visit.Written 27 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mahlegrandSoest, The Netherlands569 contributionsWhen we came the lake wasn’t completely filled with water. Than it is just another temple and not really worth to travel to the north when you come from surrounding Dem Pasar.Written 26 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LaggemanLund, Sweden634 contributionsThis Chinese temple is very close to the independence monument, so if you are doing a tour or just happen to pass by, go inside and enjoy the building, the live turtles and maybe get educated about the temple of some of the people inside.
If yo tell them your birth date, they can tell you all about the chinese sign of your year and your date.
The only downside of this place is that the turtles seem to have a bit low on water.Written 8 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SkaramooshEdmonton, Canada3,970 contributionsIf this temple happen to be along your route do stop for some great photos. It's mainly for locals but at times there are spurts of tour buses that come along.
Donations are welcomed but not mandatory.
Please do abide by the do's and dont's of temple attire and behaviour.

- Catherine CPerth12 contributionsWe were advised to go in the morning before it became too hot. The gardens are laid out beautifully so nice to wander through. There are a lot of steps up to the site and there are new steps being built due to a land slip. This is built on a much smaller scale than Borobudur in Java. If you’ve been lucky enough to have seen Borobudur at sunrise you will know what an experience that is. We were pretty hot after climbing up the steps but then went into the Meditation room with the high ceiling and ornate “alter” and loved how cool and serene it was. This is where the monks come to meditate. There are nice big shady trees to keep cool and our driver pointed out one that was special and that was where the monks will also meditate. The day we were there a wedding was about to take place and the area was set up with white floating draped arches and flowers. What seemed strange in such a spiritual place was the modern music coming through a speaker in anticipation of the impending nuptials. All in all was a pleasant visit and was happy to spend a couple of hours there. There was a small charge I think it was around 20000rp so pretty cheap.Written 8 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
