Iconic Germany marketplace filled with fruit, vegetables and meat vendors in the morning and cafes along to perimeter. We found a few antique stores tucked along side roads, along with many other stores of all varieties. It was a nice place to stop for refreshments after our time exploring at the castle and the Museum of Ancient Cultures. Every time we entered the square it was bustling with activity.

The museum is only open on certain days so we could not go inside. We did go out into the garden which has a fantastic view of the town. It's also filled with shade trees and benches so you can enjoy your time there. The hike up to the castle is a steep walk up an uneven cobblestone street so it is definitely not for everyone.

We had read about and seen pictures for years and the experience of visiting the town lived up to the hype. Every where you look there is a gorgeous 500 year old building or great view. We were lucky enough to be there during a Pride parade and were thrilled to see all the 100s (1000s?) Of participants and spectators. If you go, plan on spending 3-4 hours just exploring.

This church is worth a visit even if it's a short one. The interior is beautiful and quite interesting. It's located centrally so it's only a short walk to most places in town.

Guess what was discovered here? DNA in 1869!

There is an incredible amount of artifacts here and you could spend hours exploring it all. So worth it.

Nicely restored house on the Neckar river where Holderlin spent the last third of his life. You can listen to readings of some of the famous poems, track the creation of the elegies modeled on Pindar, and learn about the love of his life (a French woman). One of the best parts is the beautiful garden. Also, don't forget to get a coffee on the bank just above the Turm. The experience for non-German guests would of course be much enhanced if there were translations. How difficult must this be?

From the entrance right through the top floor one exciting exhibition after another. Antic cars, racing cars, motorbikes, bicycles, toys and so much more. Lovingly restored. A dream for most men and women and certainly children. That all for a modest entry fee.

Even the restaurant is outstanding from excellent service to the top quality of coffee and meals.

The Black Forest region in southwest Germany is known for its evergreen forests and beautiful villages, but of all the small towns and villages Tübingen would be my favorite city in the region. Tübingen is home to one of the oldest universities in Germany. The city is brimming with activity. The great restaurants' beautiful buildings, flowers and punting boats make this small city a must see if you visit the region. Tübingen, Germany

Close to the old city you can go here to lay down in the sun a littel, maybe have a bbq and just chill.
