We visited two beautiful vineyards near Béziers, met passionate winemakers, tasted delicious wines, and shared a lot of laughs. There was a great atmosphere and we had such a fun time together. Laurent is very personable, outgoing and passionate about this area of France. We visited two wineries and learned about the process of winemaking in addition to tasting the beautiful wines. The highlight of the trip was a relaxing lunch in Laurent’s garden where he presented charcuterie, cheeses, pates, etc from the area with some delightful wines. A lovely ending to a great trip around the local wineries. We met at the top of the 9 locks and cruised to Colombiers and back; we then went down through the locks almost to the bottom and then took the canal route over the river Orb and back. Information was provided over loud speaker in French, English, German and Dutch (I think). There were snacks available on the boat but only soft drinks (we brought our own sandwiches and a two litre bottle of water). We booked through Tripadvisor and got a free cold bottle of water each and free parking. There is shade available inside the boat but it was very hot outside; small parasols were available foc.
