- GrahamC56Derby31 contributionsWhat a lovely place to visit. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Anna the guide was so enthusiastic and explained all the features of the cave really well and made it interesting. It’s a good walk from Montecatini Terme but there is a bus if you don’t fancy it.Written 18 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bo CKoege, Denmark66 contributionsGreatness , at the water drinking palace Tettuccio, entrance fee 6 euro , somebody say its expensive, for me not, comparred to museum prices in my home country.
At the entrance we tried to buy/get a cup for drinking the healing water, the lady at the counter said that we need to show a doctor description to get a cup !! Seriously !!!
Once you are inside you will experience a lot of people who bring their own cups, the water runs freely from some taps. So bring your own cup if you wanna taste the healing water, by the way it tasted disgusting, the sulfiric acids and the salt and this ground/old taste, but if you belive in healing wells give it a go.
The park where Tettuccio is placed in are depressing due to the grand buildings in decay, it gives me a feeling of the world is near its end, by the way Montecatini are full of empty grand buildings and empty shops, but still a nice city to visit. But its alarming to me, but that the symptoms of internet business and globalism, its like that in many cities, including my hometown, a city center where people before would die to get a ship now displays closed shops now and then.Written 6 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a great landmark to use to meet at when strolling about the area. There are several shops and restaurants nearby. The sound of the water raining down into the pool around the fountain is quite calming.Written 1 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - silverbrookLondon, Canada4,881 contributionsThe Mo.C.A. Montecatini Contemporary Art museum is a not to be missed treasure that is well worth stopping by and looking through. Admission is by donation, or free and almost everyone will find something to appreciate or admire within its walls from older, more classical style to newer graffiti style art. One could easily spend a few hours here strolling around the contrasting exhibits. It reinforced to me that art comes in many different shapes, styles and sizes. I gave it 5 stars because of it's central location and low/no cost admission.Written 11 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paula MPittsburgh, PA197 contributionsWe took the train from Montecatini Terme to Florence. The train was about 20 minutes late and we had some trouble buying tickets at the machines (we don't speak Italian very well) but another commuter helped us out. The train was very quiet and a smooth ride.Written 7 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- EsmeWxWest Sussex, UK83 contributionsLovely people, very helpful and knowledgeable, along with plenty of leaflets etc available. Information on local hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions and the staff spoke excellent English but were delighted when I tried out my Italian!Written 4 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paula MPittsburgh, PA197 contributionsI went to Sunday Mass. The church looks modern and is probably not that old, so wouldn't recommend it as a tourist site. But they had a booklet with the entire Mass available, which was great for this non-Italian speaking attendee. I understood enough from the text to follow along.Written 7 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elaine ULeeds, UK7 contributionsWe went to the Best of Opera last night and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The programme was light hearted and not at all stuffy. The three singers were excellent and a delight to hear. The Pianist, well what can I say - a world level performer, a real treat and honour to hear her play.
An excellent evening and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in Montecatini on a Tuesday Evening.Written 23 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - openvisionWest Vancouver, Canada197 contributionsA theatre bearing the Verdi name on the street of the same name ought to be something special. Unfortunately, it was not - at least on the night that we visited. We went to a musical with the title of Sword in the Stone. It turned out to be quite amateurish. The routine was shy of professional standard. The place was so empty that I felt sorry for the performers. There were less than 30 people in this big space. We left at intermission.Written 9 December 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- silverbrookLondon, Canada4,881 contributionsThis is a War Memorial for the town of Montecatini Terme that was designed the Lucca artist Petroni in 1925. It is visible from the Viale Giuseppe Verdi and sits near one of the entrances to the beautiful Parco delle Terme. There is an inscription on the front that dedicates the memorial to those that have fallen as well as some other writing on the back of the base that has been partially worn by time.Written 10 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
