Mutrah Souq is a bustling and vibrant market, offering a fascinating glimpse into local culture and commerce. The variety of products available is impressive, making it a great spot for shopping and exploration. However, the experience is somewhat dampened by the occasional overzealousness of some vendors, which can be overwhelming. Despite this, it’s still a worthwhile visit for those interested in experiencing a traditional market atmosphere.

… an absolute highlight ! It’s the scale of this place that impresses. And central to this is arguably the Chandelier that dominates the main prayer room - 14m x 8m of Swarovski crystal weighing 8 tonnes ! The ‘estate’ beyond is reminiscent of the Taj Mahal - imposing & memorable for it’s structures. Beyond the Mosque, the Opera House, the fish market and the Mutrah Souk are all worthy inclusions to an educational 4-hour private tour.

The new fish market in Muscat, designed by the Norwegian studio Snøhetta to replace an earlier one from the 1960s, and completed in 2017, covers an area of over half a hectare, and is proposed, among other things, as a significant architectural work, in harmony with the other elements of the Muttrah Bay in which it stands.
Inside, from dawn until mid-morning, as is the tradition of fish markets around the world, wholesale and retail sales of fish, shellfish and other sea products take place. The sea, from the stalls of the sellers, appears full of fish and rich in species. After all, the Gulf of Oman, as a sea in direct communication with the open Indian Ocean, it's natural that it has this abundance of fish.
As in all fish markets in the world, the show is fascinating.
The extreme cleanliness of the market should be noted. The attention of the government - evident both nationally and locally - to the correct management of the activities, also through what I can imagine a work of education of the operators, seemed worthy of note.
Eateries of various kinds, surrounding the market, improve the attractiveness of the structure.

We found ourselves here a few times while in Muscat to grab groceries and some food. All the stores are here including some well known brands. There is one area that is architecturally very cool but otherwise it is worth a stop only if you are in the area. The parking is free and plentiful but it is a little tricky to get in and out of the mall area.

ALIA GALLERY is a wonderful venue. Just feels totally unexpected. In the heart of an industrial area is this gem that holds some treasures; ALIA's work is beautiful to look at. But then then there's the overall venue which hosted a film project for us. It works very well. It has a large footprint which is kept nice and cool, a quaint and beautiful coffee shop, and a library area that would be very suitable for a themed backdrop. I highly recommend this venue whether you want to use it for an event or simply want to enjoy some great art. Their general manager, Hasan Al Lawati is also very professional and accommodating. Glad that such a space exists.

This place is unique because I haven't seen many Photography club museums . They display stunning photos which are captured by professional photographers . It's a great place for amateur photographers to visit and learn tips and angles and explore more about photography .

The fact it has a food court and grocery store is great for those staying at the hotels right there. Otherwise it's just ok. Some nice stores but many empty ones too.

Beautiful and spacious mall with lots of showrooms for premium brands.
Additionally, the mall also features a sizable ice-covered section and 15 Vox cinema screens.

Despite its fairly small size, this is quite a good mall with decent shops selling different products, a Carrefour and many perfume kiosks. There's a large food court upstairs and a McDonald's, Pizza Hut and a Starbucks attached to the entrance. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. There's no cinema so that's a bumper for me

This gallery is contemporary, modern and its really unique, because it represents the best Omani contemporary artists of different ages. They have Grant programs for young graduates, who work on researches and experimental art.
as well, the represent the best Omani artists and international as well. They have a hudge art collection in their Showroom, i was surprised to find there representing artists from Europe, USA, Middle East, Asia. Artworks are of different media, and styles, you can find surrealism, figurative art, abstract and more, and the most impressive is how local Master-artists work with color, subject and object. The Omani traditional colors enrich the artworks with a new relationship between modern vision and authentic Omani language. its really differs from what i saw in other GCC countries.
I love to collect art from different countries and from Stal Gallery I collected the art of an established Omani Artist Hassan Meer. First time i discovered his art in Switzerland couple years ago, and than I found him in Christie's auction in Dubai.
Gallery is located in the city center, in environment there are a lot of restaurants- traditional and international, and it's close to seaside and hotels. Gallery Manager is a highly professional person, Dr.Meera, her art advisory, hospitality, and local guidelines - made my day and memories.
