- CaBoomeElgin, South Africa10 contributionsReally enjoyed our lunch at this fabulous restaurant, we visited on a cold and blustery day and were welcomed into a warm and cosy space with a crackling fireplace. The wild truffled mushroom risotto was a great choice but there many other items on the menu that I look forward to trying when we return again, and again!Written 1 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MartinStellenbosch, South Africa24 contributionsBeautiful wine farm in the Elgin region with lovely wines. Setting is awesome. Big lawn for kids to play and run. Some beautiful art around.Written 16 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NazK123Canterbury, UK16 contributionsThis is the very best of Cape Brandy and a must see if you like spirits of any kind. Essential if you like Brandy/Cognac or whisky! (They don’t do whisky, but this product is so good, you’ll love it)Written 1 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 865denisePinelands, South Africa3 contributionsOn going for a walk in the HH Nature reserve I was surprised at how nature had fought back after the fires and there was evidence of new shoots in trees and new seedlings popping up.Written 6 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 865denisePinelands, South Africa3 contributionsWho would have known that such an attraction is just a stones throw away from the N2!
I was amazed at how much is actually going on under-ground. Very eloquent and informative talk given by Liezel who was able to answer all questions that were put to her.Written 9 February 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It starts off as an easy stroll through beautiful scenery, until you get to the top of a gorge. And then it is time to jump of cliffs into beautiful pools of water, for the next 2 hours! You jump off of waterfall after waterfall, with the highest jump 14 meters. And once you start, there is not going back.
You must go with someone who knows the pools, because there is one after the highest 14 meter jump that looks like a great jump, but there is a big rock in it, so you must know not to jump there, there are no signs. You have to hike around that one.
Also, there are two exits, the first exit is soon after the last jump. The other exit is following the river down for another two hours, swimming in large pools of water for long distances, getting in and out of the water in your wet shoes and clothes numerous times (make sure to start very early, cause it starts to get cold and everything you bring will be soaking wet.) Then eventually you get to a large manmade pipe, where you leave the water, hike up a large peak and finally make it back to where you started. It is a long 8 - 10 hours. But amazing!
Don't forget to do the bum slide before the first jump.Written 8 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lapas for cooking improved. Great areas to swim at regular intervals. Carry enough water in summer. Not recommended if you're not fit or have bad knees. Be careful. The first hut door has an emergency lock that can lock you out if you don't have the key with you.Written 29 February 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matvl4,335 contributionsWe popped in to Peregrine as we were curious about all the bustle. A few different shops along with a restaurant and a big farm stall type shop that features pies and preserves and home made goods. Not so much of the fruit and veg type though boxes of local apples available. It’s worth a stop if you want to stock up on the usual kinds of treats and maybe find something tasty to take home.Written 31 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matvl4,335 contributionsThe honey shop is nice and of course you can taste and buy honey. But it’s tiny and could have been so much more... worth a stop if you’re passing.Written 31 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
