The guides were very informative and friendly especially about John Singer Sargent. The signage in some areas was poor except for the over abundance of ‘Do not touch’ notices which appeared to cover most items! The chapel in particular had ‘Do not touch’ notices which meant it was almost impossible to read the information hanging on the walls. We have been led to believe that the NT has been moving away from this approach.
We really enjoyed our visit and were quite moved about the hand made bedding on the four poster bed.

Amazing place to visit so many rooms open to see in main property plus gatehouse tower. Wednesdays and Saturdays you can see Conservators working in the conservation studio. Lots of open parkland to walk among the deer in.The scale of this family home has to be seen to be believed.

Exceptional park to go for a lovely walk. The deers are great to see and sometimes will be very close to the main building. Make sure you wear walking boots as the ground can be really muddy and uneven. Although dogs are allowed, they have to be on the lead otherwise they can frighten the deer. I have been here a few times and would definitely come back. The little cafe here is cute but the prices are expensive for what you get.

The entrance fees for the gardens if you are not a NT member is a bit steep at £13pp, luckily, we are NT members. Within the gardens there are a number of laid out gardens as well as the overall site to walk around. Depending upon the time of year the gardens can be so different and beautiful to wander through.

We were not with our senior family members so we parked across the road in Lambarde road to avoid the parking fee and the annoying ticket machines. We did the loop walk which was very relaxing and enjoyable. I did note that the potholes have been filled on the road in.

We hadn't booked but went on impulse. May is the ideal time to visit because that's when the Rhododendrons etc. are at their best but you do need a certain level of fitness. Lots of hilly parts to discover. We didn't eat but had good quality coffees and the servers were very friendly, pleasant and welcoming. By the time we left, there were lots of people enjoying the café. Only real negative was the toilets in a hut (one each male/female) sited outside in the car park and not ideal. We found ourselves wondering how they could possibly be sufficient to accommodate lots of visitors for events and functions. We only caught sight of the white Alpaca in an enclosure. Fortunately, the day was warm and pleasant and we did enjoy our visit which was good value for the £3 garden access.

Lovely comfortable cinema. Fairly spacious. Nice cafe upstairs and concessions downstairs are very reasonably priced. Especially the popcorn. Cinema was very chilly though.

This is surprisingly good to visit.
All the rooms are empty but that doesn't matter.
In the first room, there is a good historical timeline.

Lovely area and a great little dog walk. I only wish the council payed a bit more attention to looking after it, but all in all a lovely place

Once again the Vine provided excellent service and overall quality. I would highly recommend the roast beef.

A great spot to pass some time in Sevenoaks town centre. A calming atmosphere compared to the library downstairs. They change the exhibitions regularly, showing work by local contemporary artists. I look forward to the building being fully open again.
