Have wanted to visit Knole for many years, finally got around to visiting.
It’s £5 to park your car, plenty of parking and the 1000 acres tucked away in Sevenoaks high street is a little surprise.
350 deer live at knole and they are a beautiful sight to see with their young in their herds.
As with any wild animals it’s best to just view from a distance.
The restaurant is ok and they have a place to get “takeaway “ ice cream, sandwiches etc
Please note there are only bins here as the deer ransack the bins.
Only one set of toilets round in the main house grounds
The house is still lived in by the Sackville family.
I felt slight underwhelmed by the main house and it’s rooms.
You can see they are trying to protect the furniture and a couple of the extremely precious bedrooms are basically in the dark and behind totally glass, making it hard to see and read the information.
We visited on a day the tower that Eddy lived in was open, this really was the most fantastic part of the day as you could go to the top of the tower and see for miles.
No gardens to see these are open on specific dates.

Lovely gardens to visit in the heart of the Kent countryside. Beautiful formal garden along with play area for kids and woods for dog walkers. Good coffee shop too.

We visited Saturday morning, surprisingly quiet - which was nice.
Free parking, friendly staff. Reasonable prices for food and drink. Dog friendly.

Trails aren’t very long, but are aimed at families with kids - lots of quirky things to see/ find on the trails. Lovely views from the top of the trees.

Lots of events coming up. Would return and would recommend - particularly to those with smaller children.

Lovely expanse of land for a walk. Open areas and woodland glades. Looking a bit dry at present, but hopefully will recover.

Charming property and grounds. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Loved hearing from them about the Tudor links and also the significance of the yellow/gold carpet in the bedroom.
Tried out the cafe too and the food was great. Glad we visited.

Lovely area and a great little dog walk. I only wish the council payed a bit more attention to looking after it, but all in all a lovely place

Lovely comfortable cinema. Fairly spacious. Nice cafe upstairs and concessions downstairs are very reasonably priced. Especially the popcorn. Cinema was very chilly though.

Once again the Vine provided excellent service and overall quality. I would highly recommend the roast beef.

I'm not sure there is such a thing as an official 'Sevenoaks Hiking Trail'. The post code for this attraction suggests a walk along the footpaths East of Sevenoaks town through Knole Park, Godden Green and out towards Ightham which is a nice hike. Or perhaps head South West out of town towards Ide Hill where you'll get great views from the top of the North Downs. I've walked just about every footpath in this area and would simply suggest that you grab an OS map and plan your own hike on the footpaths through the places I've mentioned. They're all great.

A great spot to pass some time in Sevenoaks town centre. A calming atmosphere compared to the library downstairs. They change the exhibitions regularly, showing work by local contemporary artists. I look forward to the building being fully open again.
