- Dan BLondon313 contributionsAbsolutely loved it here. Took the kids and dog to see the donkeys who all have interesting back stories and found the whole experience very calming. Nice to see nice people doing nice things for the donkeys, rescuing many of them. You can donate as much as you want for the entry experience and spend as much or as little time here as you'd like. We had lunch in our few hours spent here and came away feeling uplifted that such places exist and do such a good job. Our kids didn't do the experience of grooming a donkey but the kids who did seemed to enjoy it (as did the donkeys) and it was all decent value for what you get.Written 21 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Arran1 contributionBlackgang Chine is a lovely Park with plenty to do.
we actually live on the island and get a very good price for the 6 months so we can't moan about it.
However i seen kids crying last weekdend because they were obviously on Holiday and it was £35 for a day ticket which lets be honest to charge £35 for a 4 year old is daylight robbery!!
it's disgusting the park is always busy so it must be making a killing and with the inflation and petrol prices ect rising how are people meant to afford £170 for a family of 4?Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Dan BLondon313 contributionsVery pretty place. Nice and tranquil. We went on a changeable weather day so perhaps was less busy but people were still going into the sea on kayaks and lots of walkers with dogs passed by. The walk down is fairly steep so perhaps not appropriate for the elderly.Written 21 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Food was basic, didn’t realise a pasta salad was a bowl of just cooked pasta. The toilets were disgusting and the gardens no longer cared for. However if this is a cic then you shouldn’t be too hard on the volunteers that are trying their best to run it.Written 12 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KevinRaymentWelwyn, UK866 contributionsI really enjoyed seeing the water fall area and the paddling pool area with the mini Isle of Wight surrounded by water was really well done.Written 2 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AnglotripperBoston, MA100 contributionsThis old church is a true hidden gem and well worth seeking out. It felt spiritual and historic. The day we went was sunny and the foliage so green that our pictures came out fantastic!Written 30 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tickledtrout23109 contributionsBeautiful tranquil and historic
Obviously not everyone’s cup of tea but still well worth 30mins of anyone’s time to stop and reflect on times past.Written 18 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - hrhvic2riaPlymouth, UK59 contributionsDedicated, knowledgable Volunteers Colin Beavis and Brenda Jackson, "pulled out all the stops" to help answer my qustions regarding the Old Sanatorium, which I now know to be the Royal National Hospital.
Unfortunately on this occasion we did not have time to visit the Botanic Gardens. However we certainly plan to return to The Island, and Ventnor in the future so will be sure to visit the gardens and old hospital site thenWritten 20 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - KevinRaymentWelwyn, UK866 contributionsA very beautiful area with its ferns, moss and rocks. Possibly the nicest part of the coastal path that I visit the island to walk.Written 31 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- roger hGuildford, UK207 contributionsChurch has stained glass windows by Ford Madox Brown, William Morris and Burne-Jones. Not far from coastal path, well worth a detour.Written 24 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Steven P47 contributionsHidden gem. This tiny museum at the back of a gift shop is well worth a visit. You get a potted history of certain area of the island. Some fossils thrown in along with some history of ventnor. This is worth a few moments of your time.Written 9 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jess78Gosport, United Kingdom7 contributionsWe were met on time by Theo, our wonderfully knowledgeable guide. Quickly engaging my son and setting the scene for life on the Isle of Wight 180myo.
We quickly started spotting the wonderful fossilised dinosaur footprints and Theo took us through the identification and geological history of their preservation.
A fascinating 2 hours were spent looking for dinosaur bone fossils and I also came away with some fab examples of fossilised wood and neolithic flint scrapers.
Highly recommended.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mel GHighworth, UK2 contributionsKatie was fantastic! The environment was clean, just the right temperature and very soothing. I had a massage and facial and Katie listened to my requests and took everything onboard to make sure it was perfect. Highly recommended and a fab way to start my break.Written 19 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
