Since my wife and I were the only tourists...we were able to custmoize the tour for the day. Hannah (who is owner of Jurassic Jouneys) was very accomodating and fun to be with...she knows her way around..knows her history of area as she lives there. Tour seems expensive but when we were finished...I thought it was a geat deal...within an hour I felt like I was with a friend or relative who lived in the area and showed me the non-tourist things that make it special. We even got to walk around where she grew up! Pauls a local guy so you’re not just going to get the usual bland stuff you read in books or in the tourist ‘ blurb ‘
His tour takes up your 3 hours depending on the group’s individual preferences and you follow a comprehensive route around the town and coastline .
My thoughts are to always try to have a local guided walk to get your bearings and give you a better feel of the place you’re visiting.

Danny enthusiastically shared many fascinating historical and geological facts from the Jurassic to the Georgian and modern eras! He was happy to flex the itinerary to suit the participants. I’m delighted I was able to join this event with Dorset Tours, which was excellent value lasting over 6 hours. - Caroline G2 contributionsI loved the idea of the hidden gems app, but ended up so disappointed and didn’t use it. There were too many flags for us to be able to find something to do.
It didn’t help that this was the first time we had ever been to the area, so not having place names on the map made it even more difficult to find something to do. I tried using the filters, but these were all about the flags and not geographical area.
I was also expecting the app to show me ‘hidden’ gems, instead, it only showed the places and activities that were well advertised in the area

Terri's knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for sharing the rich history of these iconic landmarks made our visit truly unforgettable.
What made our day even more special was Terri's willingness to go above and beyond by taking extra time to show us around her beautiful island of Portland and the charming seaside village of Weymouth. Her insights and stories brought these places to life in a way that only a true local could. We felt like we were getting a glimpse of the heart and soul of these communities, something we would have missed on a standard tour.
Terri's warmth and hospitality made us feel more like friends than tourists. Her dedication to ensuring we had the best possible experience was evident in every moment of our tour. From the stunning views of the Coast to the quaint streets of Weymouth, every detail was thoughtfully curated.

I worked with Pilar and he was very easy to work with and highly recommend this company. The tour guide Andy was AMAZING, the entire group loved listening to him on the history. He was informative and very fun. Do this tour and you will love it! - Lin7 contributionsGreat Fun. We used the app as we traveled along the Jurassic Coast from Sidmouth in Devon to Weymouth in Dorset. The app was a great tool, helping us find hidden gems along the way. It was also a really good way to discover less crowded places and avoid the crowds.
