What travellers are saying
- zotarPlymouth, UK257 contributionsIt is a rare thing the see days to have a thriving town with a decent market. Most places are what I would call ‘tat markets’ but the Pannier Market in Tavistock is a great place to visit. The highlight for me was the food place ‘Bobs’ absolutely cracking fry up. Also, the shops around the market are brilliant… the cheese shop is awesome.Written 12 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angling-CoachdotNetSteyning, UK5 contributionsTook my friend fishing - we were warmly welcomed with coffee and chatted to the bailiff who shared some key knowledge in fly selection and offered to help set up equipment. The venue has lots of natural vegetation and plenty of insect life for the trout to feed on. The lakes are fed from the river Tavi and the flowing fresh wash makes for hard fighting fish in mint condition great tasting for the table. I caught 3 rainbows and my friend got a PB 6lb Brown trout on a Parachute Adams Dry fly...Written 11 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeff L4 contributionsI've been to a few micro breweries and this is one of the absolute best.
Excellent beer, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and great atmosphere.
I didn't try the street food but it looked excellent.
Don't miss out on this gem of a venue.Written 12 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The owners are very friendly and helpful and gave him a very good deal to start his collection. I couldn't walk away without adding to my collection too ( at a very good price). Well worth the visit !Written 24 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sally GCoulsdon, UK4 contributionsGreat local fresh produce with a good selection of stalls. - Nancy S2 contributionsWe didn't know about the Merrivale Monuments, but stumbled upon them while trying to hike up to the Tor. These were fascinating to walk through, especially after we looked up what they were. I think they're about as old as Stone Henge but without the crowds. If you're in Dartmoor, it's worth seeing.Written 21 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David LHawick, UK18 contributionsWhen you arrive you may think you are in the wrong place but when you get into the shop it is very interesting and the gentleman who served us was very polite and interested in where we had came from. We got different cider samples and ended up spending £60. It a quaint little ‘shop’ and would recommend you visit if you are in the areaWritten 16 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - k rWeston super Mare, UK2,728 contributionsOn a rainy midweek morning the cafe here was very busy.
We had a lovely cup of coffee, and gluten free rainbow cake here.
The member of staff on reception was very helpful and informative, advising us of all the different events, gigs, and talks that were coming up. If I lived locally I would be in here a lot!Written 24 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lovely and peaceful walk bringing us good and not so good memories from both the recent and distant past. The Ducks along the bodies of waters give the feeling of safety and Mother Nature at her best. There is a Coffee Outlet serving drinks and food plus a children’s play park as well as a number of benches to take a few minutes enjoying the area.Written 3 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EllyBeccles, UK3 contributionsA gentle uphill walk to the wheal with stunning views surrounding it. The entrance looks like a private driveway to stables but there is a lay-by halfway down the track to park up and walk. Highly recommend a visit. Easy to get to. Approx. 30 mins visit total.Written 17 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
