Yet the artifacts, accessibility and then the incredible works of art in the second floor picture gallery - we never made it to the third floor as we had another event to get to and had to leave, yet the layout was superlative. The only odd aspect was we wanted to grab a bite at the restaurant in the early afternoon and - there was a line waiting to be seated - so we left. What do they do in the busy season? In Decmber the fountains are turned off and most of the ponds are empty but there are still long walks to be had with great views. We walked up to the Gloriette - it is much bigger than we expected! And a cafe is in it too. The market had many different stalls, though many were the same items we saw in Germany. There was food, and places to sit and relax. Besides the stunning St. Stephen's Cathedral right smack in the center, there's so much to see and do here; eat, browse, stroll, people watch, window shop. - LoveTravel1847000222 contributionsGreat overview of Sisi’s life as an empress and what the Hofburg palace looked like during that time. It is well preserved and exciting to see her dresses and how opulent the palace rooms were. My one complaint is that it was incredibly crowded, dark and cramped in Sisi’s section of the museum. The museum needs to limit the number of visitors with a queue system. We were there at about 10:30a and it was already hard to see some of the exhibits. Definitely get the audio or a tour guide as we did so that you know what you are looking at. - Heathsr11279 contributionsA really interesting tour - you can only take photos in the main hall but that’s fine so don’t be disappointed. The guide was very informative and we didn’t know what to expect but found the history really interesting and the facts we were told ( go on the tour to find out)! It was good to see where the New Year’s Day concert is performed after we saw it on telly when we were out on New Year’s Eve.
Booked tickets online which id advise as it gets booked up. We picked out tickets up at the box office.
