After having been to the American cemetery in Normandy, we had to visit this one too. It was humbling. Thanks for the sacrifice.
We arrived early to avoid the crowds and busses. The peacefulness was amazing. Patton’s grave overlooks the rest of the cemetery.

Amazing views of the corniche and the surrounding areas can be seen from above the walking path. You can really appreciate the city and also learn a bit more of the history of Luxembourg if you go on one of the walking tours. Highly Recommended!

Not very ornate on the outside, however the alter area is very elaborate. A large and beautiful tapestry was interesting and one on the opposite wall missing. Lovely stained glass windows.

Honestly, we have mixed feelings about this place. History, culture, etc etc etc…with that being said, it would be very helpful to have signage around the place as to what was here and there, or perhaps an audio guide (maybe there is one and we just missed it, in this case, I apologize). Otherwise you are just walking around some stone alleys and underground passage ways without knowing what’s going on. There is a brochure you can pick up at the entrance m, it’s a short history of what was there through the centuries. There are some canon slots that open up to nice views of the city. Some places are very cramped (stairwells) and super slippery. Like, super slippery and steep. Be very careful when walking. Definitely not a place to bring a stroller. I don’t know if you can walk around with a cane, probably if you just stay on top without going under. Would I recommend the place? I am not sure. Not as an all day or the only activity for the day you visit Luxembourg. If you have other plans to do in the city, you can squeeze in the casemates. We were done in 30 minutes (2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 12 years old).

A very agreeable, nice, pittoresque part of the town. To be preferred over the higher part. Stroll around. History, nice houses, beautiful viewpoints.

Essentially a piece of public transport infrastructure that happens to have a glass walkway and great views of the valley. The slightly surprising thing is that if you are in the city, you get the view first - then head down in the lift. There are undoubtedly great views from the glass platform and the lift itself (if you can fight off the hordes of insta-selfie takers for a minute) but actually at the bottom is a quaint village which feels a world away from the modern city above. It's well worth taking the time to explore down here and is definitely worth taking the time to explore rather than just taking the selfie and leaving.

We picked up a map from the TI that described the route and the various points of interest. Start at the Bock casemates and then along the walkways up and down 8nto the lower town and finish 8n the Grund neighborhood. At stop 10 in an old tower, they have a movie on the city's history. You can take an elevator back up when done

Everything free except the entrance to the casemates

Visited this grand Palace whilst on a city tour. It is a massive building with stunning features and there are some black poles with gold faces facing it. I was lucky to witness the changing of the guards as well. It is located in the city centre and you can take beautiful photos.

The plaza is in the center of downtown and a great place to start your explorations. We found parking nearby and admired the town. There are several dining options here on the plaza, although they're pretty touristy, and we enjoyed getting an ice cream. We were also impressed with the public bathrooms located just off the main square, which were both free and very clean.

Worth a visit to the bridge to tick off one of the main sights (and views) in Luxembourg. Its double-decked even though the lower deck is a little hidden and you'll be fighting speeding cyclists, its worth a crossing to get a different view of the city - its also good to stay dry if its raining!

This is a great place to start an orientation to the city and history of Luxembourg. The format of the museum is very interesting starting at the lower levels inside fortress wall and going through a timeline around each floor and up to current times. There are relief models of the city in ancient and medieval times. The audio guide is good. The full room glass elevator that moves through the stone walls is very cool!
